Hi Jamye, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into the aesthetics world began with a strong foundation in healthcare management, but deep down I always knew I was meant to do more meaningful, hands-on work. About five years ago, that calling became clear when I started taking a closer look at my own skin and began searching for real solutions—especially for hyperpigmentation in intimate areas, a concern that is often overlooked for women.
That curiosity led me to aesthetics school, where I quickly fell in love with the science, complexity, and transformative power of skin health, along with the art of waxing. What started as a personal mission evolved into a true passion for corrective skincare as a whole.
After graduating, I sought out opportunities that would allow me to fully focus on corrective treatments, but when the doors didn’t open, I created my own. Taking a leap of faith, I founded Skyn by J. D. Aesthetics, a space dedicated to results-driven treatments, education, and confidence-building care.
Now in my fourth year of business, my clientele continues to grow alongside my commitment to continual education and excellence. Most recently, I was honored to receive the Best of Georgia – Esthetician award, a milestone that reflects both my dedication to my craft and the trust my clients place in me.
Skyn by J. D. Aesthetics is more than a business—it’s the result of purpose, passion, and a belief that every client deserves healthy, radiant skin at every stage of their journey.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A smooth road? Of course not. Every single day has been a learning experience. When I first started Skyn by J. D. Aesthetics, I’ll be honest—I only knew the basics. So I mastered them, stayed in my lane, and committed myself to continued education by investing in advanced courses in corrective skincare.
There was plenty of trial and error along the way—testing products, learning what truly works best for my clients, and understanding that great results don’t come from shortcuts. On top of that, navigating the dynamics of running a business came with its own steep learning curve.
There were moments when I thought about throwing in the towel, but purpose and passion don’t come without a little pain. Every challenge shaped me, sharpened my skills, and reminded me why I started. And I wouldn’t trade that journey for anything.

Corrective skincare may be my first love, but I’m also well known for my waxing & vajacial services, with Brazilian waxes being my second most booked treatment. Aesthetics, I turn those nerve-wracking moments into an experience that’s comfortable, relaxing, and filled with great vibes and laughter.
You’ve probably heard the horror stories—waxers rushing through appointments, focusing on quantity over quality. That’s not how I operate. I focus on precision, education, and results – not how many clients I can squeeze into a 30-minute window.
I’m incredibly proud to have built my clientele on knowledge, skill, and trust, and to see my business growing at a steady, intentional pace. To every client who took a chance on me and continues to choose me, much appreciation.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
That’s a loaded question—because I’m honestly just getting started. There’s still so much I want to do with Skyn by J. D. Aesthetics, and the vision continues to grow bigger every year.
Without giving too much away, I can confidently say that Skyn by J. D. Aesthetics is destined for continued success. I’m actively working toward expanding the brand and introducing new treatments that go beyond the surface—services that support overall skin health and total wellness.
But it doesn’t stop with clients. Giving back to the industry is also a huge part of my purpose. I’m passionate about helping new estheticians navigate the field, avoid unnecessary trial and error, and build the confidence they need to truly thrive.
So yes—classes, education, and mentorship are absolutely on the horizon. The glow-up is happening, and this next chapter is going to be even better!
