Today we’d like to introduce you to Janay Boynton.
Hi Janay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2020, when the world shut down for COVID-19 I became unemployed with no idea of how I was going to make my next moves, going forward and how was I going to keep my bills paid. Since I’ve been doing hair since I was 15 years of age, why not start a hair extensions business. My close friends/family helped me come up with different ideas on how to start a hair extensions business.
I struggled to find the right answers but I still made sales from my local customers. January 1, 2021, I decided to rebrand and start fresh. I took classes from other entrepreneurs that have been in the industry for a couple of years and I still didn’t get the information I needed to have a successful business. I then purchased different books to try to figure things out on my own. Once I got the hang of things I started my rebranding process. All custom packages, my logo, and my website were all created by myself. At the end of March 2021, I set up a photo shoot to have up-to-date photos of myself representing my brand.
I relaunch on April 1, 2021, and it was history. My sales started coming in and also my business Instagram account started growing followers. I set goals and I’ve been achieving them as the months go by. As of now, my business is doing great. I have different investors reaching out to help me grow my business/ brand. At the moment, I am honestly headed into a new level of my business and am very excited about the new adjustments. As of December 1, 2021, or no later than January 1, 2022, the goal is to have my building up and ready for Grand Opening.
I am evolving, learning new things daily, and growing. I can only imagine what God has planned for me in 2022. I am ready for every level that’s needed in order for me to reach the top floor where all other big leading entrepreneurs are.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a little up and down. As I stated in the previous questions. I’ve taken classes from other entrepreneurs but it didn’t get me anywhere. So, I purchased different books about how to make six-figure selling hair extensions and also the entrepreneur’s guide on how to become a successful entrepreneur.

As a businesswoman, I am known for uplifting and enhancing other women’s inner and outer beauty. I love to stand out with different ideas I never saw from others. When I did my rebrand I made sure my brand was different from others because I definitely want to make my brand pop.
The most exciting part about my brand is the part of leveling up and meeting new friends and loyal customers that keeps the business uplifted and up to date on all new events and ideas. Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years. I see my brand all across the world on big billboards, commercials even in different magazines. I will be doing bigger and better things like modeling for big companies as a beauty influencer and heading into a new journey of starting up another business for my children. I will be rich and living life on the top floor where all my big boss babes are.
