Hidden Gems: Meet Marge VonLehmden of House of Von Professional Organizing Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marge VonLehmden.

Hi Marge, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Marge! I grew up in the beautiful rose capital of the world – Tyler, Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in business I’ve spent the bulk of my career in fast-paced pharmaceutical sales. I’ve called Savannah home since 2004 and love life on the East coast.

After my second son was born, I hung up my hat in sales and took over managing a boutique furniture store, Nadeau. It was there that I realized my love of helping people with their homes.

I ENCOURAGE BETTER LIVING HABITS BY ELIMINATING CLUTTER AND MAXIMIZING YOUR HOME.

I specifically love finding order and bringing peace to your home through organization and habit shifting. When your home is neat and organized, everything has its place and purpose.

Working locally and focusing on the needs of my Savannah and low country clients’ is most important to me. We focus our donations on going back into the local community and ensuring that someone else’s excess items can just want someone else needed to get back on their feet. I’ve worked closely with Family Promises of Savannah since my company started in 2017.

We focus donations of clothing, home goods, and more get into the hands of people who are most in need. Not only does it help the community but the client I’m helping de-clutter is more likely to open their heart and give than hold on to the excess.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road I’ve traveled has been paved with extreme highs and lows both personally and professionally colliding at the same time. I’ve recently had to take moments of pause and timeouts due to the loss of a family member, complications with the pandemic, and personal health issues.

I’ve had amazing mentors that have helped me stay the course and continue my passion. The joy I gain from helping others transform their homes gives me the gumption to keep moving forward. My work as an organizer isn’t to take pretty color-coordinated photos it is to help others eliminate the excess that is taking over their space.

My work takes place in their home, but we also tackle the mental and physical hurdles that clutter can cause to oneself. I want the results of our sessions to improve the overall quality of life! After a LONG year of not being in my client’s homes due to Covid (and teaching two wild boys “virtual” school), I am beyond happy to be back to work!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
House of Von is a professional organizing service! I provide organizing services for the Closet to the Pantry. This can also include offices, garages, craft rooms, and bathrooms. You name it- I’ve organized it! I work 60% in the residential settings and roughly 40% in the commercial setting helping businesses stay organized.

My commercial work is typical of other creatives and designers. I also offer Closet Design and Organization Design work to implement and build systems to help ensure the organization can be maintained. I work with local builders and other tradespeople to install the success of these projects. I’m known for getting it done! Period! Give me your goals and you can set me free to shine.

I take a no-judgment approach and privacy is ensured. I’ve built relationships with my clients that are for life, not for social media or pretty pictures. My brand is rooted in Savannah and I strive to help my clients and the community as a whole.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Type A- outgoing, hard-working, determined to write my own story. I knew I wanted to travel and move away from home. I wanted to take risks and try new things. I loved ballet and dancing, movies, and being with friends.
