Hidden Gems: Meet Mike Vidan of QuoteIQ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Vidan.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up in Atlanta, Mike Vidan always exhibited a drive to achieve more. After high school, he attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, where he earned a Political Science degree in just three years — an early testament to his discipline, focus, and determination.

Following graduation, Mike immediately launched into his professional career with J & J Industries, a commercial flooring company, working as an outside sales representative. There, he honed the sales skills that would carry him throughout his career. His journey continued with a move to Georgia-Pacific in Atlanta, where he quickly rose through the ranks, holding roles such as Inside Sales Manager, before relocating to Savannah to dive deeper into the operational side of the business. Mike thrived in leadership positions including Continuous Improvement Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Production Shift Manager, overseeing large teams and driving operational excellence. He eventually transitioned back into sales, taking on the role of Regional Sales Manager, rounding out a 12-year career at Georgia-Pacific.

With nearly two decades of high-level corporate experience, Mike set his sights on a bigger personal goal — retiring by the age of 50. He moved to a West Coast building products manufacturer, where he spent 18 years in leadership roles, all while strategically preparing for his entrepreneurial future.

True to his entrepreneurial spirit, Mike was never content to rely solely on his corporate career. Over the years, he built several businesses on the side, including Maverick Customs, one of the first online stores specializing in Harley-Davidson parts and accessories, and Jailhouse Choppers, a custom motorcycle manufacturer based in Savannah, Georgia. In 2003, he purchased All American Pressure Cleaning, a service-based business that he grew steadily, later expanding into property maintenance with All American Property Maintenance.

When the world slowed down during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike seized the opportunity to pivot once again. He launched a YouTube channel dedicated to marketing, sales, and scaling service-based businesses — a move that resonated deeply with entrepreneurs around the world. His relatable style and real-world advice helped the channel grow to over half a million subscribers, establishing Mike as a trusted authority in the service business community.

Seeing a major gap in the industry, Mike and his business partner, Justin Rogers, transitioned into online education, creating countless training programs to help other service business owners start, grow, and scale successful companies. Through their large audiences, they uncovered a critical missing piece in the market: an affordable, professional CRM software platform built specifically for home service businesses.

After two years of development, QuoteIQ was born.

Today, QuoteIQ is the fastest-growing CRM platform in the home services industry. Unlike other platforms that require expensive third-party integrations, QuoteIQ is completely vertically integrated, allowing users to manage quoting, customer communication, scheduling, invoicing, analytics, and marketing all from one system — saving time, money, and eliminating the need for multiple software subscriptions.

QuoteIQ has built an exceptional team across customer support, marketing, and development, constantly innovating with industry-leading features like InstaQuote (instant online quoting) and the Review Multiplier (automated customer review collection).

Mike Vidan’s story is a powerful example of how ambition, entrepreneurial thinking, and a willingness to evolve can lead not only to personal success but to the creation of businesses that empower thousands of others to achieve their dreams.

And he’s just getting started.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For Mike Vidan, obstacles aren’t setbacks — they’re stepping stones.

“There’s sometimes a negative connotation with the word ‘obstacle,’ because by definition, obstacles slow you down,” Mike says. “But I don’t see them that way. Obstacles are how we learn, how we grow, and how we get better.”

One of Mike’s biggest personal challenges — and greatest priorities — has been raising a family while building businesses. As the proud father of four amazing kids, he understands firsthand the balance and sacrifice it takes to do both well.

“With four kids, it’s a lot,” he laughs. “My wife and I realized early on that we had to shift from playing one-on-one to playing zone defense. That made life a little easier, but the time, energy, and love it takes to raise good humans is very real. It’s a full-time commitment that takes precedence over everything else.”

For Mike, business has always come second to being there for his family — whether it’s attending school functions, cheering at sports games, or simply showing up every day.
“Those experiences are invaluable. You can’t buy back time. You can’t replace those moments.”

From a business standpoint, Mike’s greatest obstacle has been competing as a self-funded underdog.

“We built QuoteIQ from the ground up without any venture capital funding, while competing against companies with a 10- to 15-year head start and massive budgets for marketing and development,” Mike explains. “It wasn’t easy. We didn’t have the luxury of burning through millions of dollars to figure things out. We had to be sharp, resourceful, and focused on what mattered most — building something truly valuable for our customers.”

That underdog mentality, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit and relentless work ethic, helped Mike and his team turn QuoteIQ into the fastest-growing CRM platform for home service businesses — all while maintaining the values that matter most: family, integrity, and perseverance.

“Obstacles aren’t there to stop you,” Mike says. “They’re there to reveal who’s willing to keep going.”
