It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small, independent performance shops, Stathas Racing and Performance faced challenges such as building a strong customer base from the ground up, investing in the right tools and equipment, and staying competitive in an industry that’s constantly evolving. There were long hours, financial risks, and the pressure of proving quality and reliability in a results-driven field. But through many years of mechanical experience and an unwavering passion for racing, Nick stayed committed to growth, continued learning, and delivering work that speaks for itself — turning those challenges into the foundation of the business today.

One of the biggest risks we took was leaving a stable career without knowing exactly what was next — no guaranteed customer base and little to no savings to fall back on. Opening a performance shop is always a leap of faith, especially in a competitive industry. But we believed in our skill set, our work ethic, and our passion for racing.
For us, risk isn’t about being reckless — it’s about betting on yourself, being willing to work harder than anyone else, and trusting that consistency and quality will create opportunity. Every major step forward has required faith and long hours, but those risks are what built Stathas Racing and Performance into what it is today.
