Today we’d like to introduce you to Rheanna Grooms.
Rheanna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi there! My name is Rheanna and I have been a photographer in south Georgia since 2019! My husband and I would often times go to the beach and watch the sunrises and one year he surprised me with a nice Nikon camera to capture the memories. Little did I know that it would change my life. I then started to take couple and maternity photos for friends and family which really sparked a passion in me. I adore making a family laugh and giggle while doing photos or capture that sweet moment between a couple before they welcome their first baby into the world. I have learned so much since then and I am now offering a wide variety of photography services while also working as a full time Registered Veterinary Technician.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a full time RVT, working 10-12 hours per day, there has definitely been obstacles while starting my photography business. Creating a business as well as maintaining it is very time consuming which is very hard to do when you’re stuck in an after hours emergency surgery on a really sick dog. Time management has been something I have been forced to learn. While maintaining a full time job and a busy photography business, I still maintain a very quick turn around for my clients, which is something that I take pride in. Luckily, my days off from being an RVT are for me being a dog mom, editing, and doing what I love, capturing memories!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
In my photography career, I have done several different varieties of photo shoots. From couple, engagement, and weddings to graduation, studio portraits and now small business/promotional photography. All other sessions include but are not limited to: portraits, graduation, couple, engagement, weddings, pregnancy announcements, maternity, newborn, smash cake, milestones, events, dog photos, studio sessions, mini sessions, travel, end of life sessions, small business photography and more! Reach out to collaborate on a project!
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see my business growing and expanding as I start to meet new people, make new connections, new projects and more. There is so much more to learn and I cannot wait to see where this takes me in life.
