Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Cray.
Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I decided that I was ready to start a business. I was tired of making someone else a millionaire. I was tired of working overnight and leaving my kids to work in a dangerous correctional facility with no structure. I was ready for a change. I was ready to start my legacy for my boys & I. I knew I wanted to be affiliated with the medical field, but I just wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do exactly. I knew that I didn’t have the life of a full-time student anymore because I was a mom of 2, so I ended up taking a phlebotomy course. I flew from there.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This definitely has not been a smooth road at all!!! Many, many struggles. I have done this thing with only my hands & brain that’s it. I have sat up countless nights, no sleep…coming up with new ideas. And the financial troubles of being a single mother AND a business owner…whew! Entrepreneurship has been one of the toughest yet rewarding things I have done in my life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
I own a mobile phlebotomy business & I own a traveling CPR and First Aid training business. My mobile phlebo business is registered as a CLIA-waived laboratory in the state of Georgia. As a certified phlebotomist and I can travel to your home and/or office or church or WHEREVER to perform your lab work. I can either draw labs prescribed by your doctor or you can request certain labwork, and a virtual doctor can sign off on your request. I also perform Paternity testing, Early Gender Reveal testing, COVID-19 testing, STD Testing, and a host of other services which can also be done anywhere! Periodically throughout the year, I conduct Phlebotomy Workshops to teach basic phlebotomy skills to aspiring phlebotomists who want to get into the field. I am a certified CPR instructor for American Heart Association & an instructor/instructor trainer & Licensed Training Provider (LTP) for Red Cross. I have what’s called a strategic partnership with Red Cross where they basically dispatch classes to my organization to cover parts of Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, & Florida. My traveling CPR training business provides mobile classes to individuals and corporations. I feel like my compassion, dependability, and honesty sets me apart from others because those things are not common anymore due to greed and jealousy. People will tell you anything just to get your money and that just isn’t me. If you see where another business is a better fit, I will always respect that. If it’s for me, it will be so. I am most proud of my determination. I took my last dollar and invested in the trainings I took these certs & made them my full-time priority! I literally walked off my job and went headfirst into T&R! That was 4 years ago!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My kids deserve all the credit in the world! If it weren’t for them, I don’t know where I would be. Definitely wouldn’t be a business owner, that’s for sure. I have a few close friends who have supported me throughout this whole thing.
