Hi! First of all, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share my story! My journey into photography began unexpectedly. After serving in the Marine Corps and completing my enlistment, I decided to ease back into academics with what I thought were “easier” classes, leading me to discover my passion for photography. What started as a college course became an enduring connection with my camera, leading me to continuously refine my skills through education and hands-on experience. As friends began requesting my photography services, I found myself drawn deeper into the craft. Living abroad and later returning to pursue further education, I seized opportunities in real estate photography, eventually establishing my own successful company. Today, as the sole owner and photographer, I take pride in delivering quality work and nurturing relationships with clients. My decade-long journey in photography has been fulfilling, and I’m grateful to turn my passion into a profession.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My path to pursuing photography hasn’t been without its challenges, but the rewards have made every hurdle worth it. Dealing with imposter syndrome has been a real struggle, yet the encouragement and support from others have been invaluable. Photography is a continuous learning process, demanding constant adaptation and growth. Transitioning to entrepreneurship was daunting, especially without a business background. I had to navigate uncharted territory and face uncertainties about the outcome. Opting for my passion over a potentially safer career path was a difficult choice, but looking back, I’m immensely grateful for taking that leap of faith.

We’ve been impressed with Nessa Rich Photography LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Real Estate and Vacation Rental photography, complemented by professional headshot services and lifestyle portraits. Collaborating with top professionals, I also provide aerial photos, videos, and Matterport services. Each job I undertake, whether capturing “before” photos of a renovation project or showcasing a beautifully decorated vacation home, receives my utmost dedication. Clients value my hands-on approach and meticulous attention to detail, as I go the extra mile to ensure their listing photos stand out. Whether it’s rearranging furniture or tidying up spaces, I take pride in delivering exceptional results for every project.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
During my time preceding my current profession, I faced significant challenges in my personal life, prompting deep reflection on my aspirations and priorities. Amidst the turmoil, I made a conscious decision to pursue paths that brought me joy and allowed for greater flexibility to support my family. Adversity propelled me into the realm I now inhabit, where I find fulfillment both personally and professionally. Serendipity also played a role in my journey into Real Estate Photography, sparked by a conversation with my realtor who recognized my talent and connected me with a photography company. I believe that both hardship and opportunity shape our paths, and it’s our response to adversity that defines our trajectory. Grateful for the experiences, both positive and negative, I credit them for molding me into the person I am today.
