Hidden Gems: Meet Waliyah McCrary of Waliyah Capri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Waliyah McCrary.

Hi Waliyah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started as a brand consultant for other women-led businesses, and eventually, I started coaching and teaching courses. I grew my following on social media to over 42,000 people, grossed five-figure months, and have helped many women to find their brand identity and to develop their social media strategy with my digital products and services.

After the birth of my daughter and my current pregnancy, I’ve decided to prioritize my home life. I am currently transitioning into a full-time mom lifestyle content creator.

I am currently in the process of rebranding and building a lifestyle blog describing my experience as a black millennial wife & stay at home mom of 2 under 2 rediscovering and intentionally redefining the vision for my life, career, and family.

I plan to help other Black stay-at-home moms to navigate the process of balancing self, home, and their personal goals in the most intentional way possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Learning how to continue to live an intentional life while building a human is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

The physical, mental, and emotional strength it takes to create a safe, healthy, and functional environment for my family while navigating the world of social media culture and my business goals is exhausting.

The guilt of allowing myself to grieve my pre-baby life while being grateful for my beautiful children is a heavy load.

It’s teaching me to give myself the same grace I give my toddler, to intentionally pour into myself before others, and to release the need to always be in control of everything.

The process of surrendering to the season of motherhood while still executing my vision for my goals is something I’m still learning to accept and grow from.

To know that you’re making the right decision but to also allow yourself to learn how to be at peace with it is a process.

As you know, we’re big fans of Waliyah Capri Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
The official launch date for my new blog, “Intentionally Liyah,” is January 2023.

In this blog, I will not only take my audience through the daily events of staying at home with my toddler and nursing a newborn while continuing to be a loving wife and partner, but I will also discuss the uncomfortable topics within Black Motherhood and parenting that don’t get spoken about as much as they should.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory includes any time I spent my weekends, and school breaks with my late paternal grandmother. She was my safe space and made sure I felt seen and heard.
