Inspiring Conversations with Amber Dryden of Amber & Fig Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Dryden.

Hi Amber, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Amber & Fig Boutique, formerly known as Fig Boutique, was created in 2020 as an online boutique shop providing unique, quality pieces from mostly American Made and Women-Owned businesses. In 2022 we acquired a historic commercial property and we completely revamped our little 400 square foot store to the cutest little boutique in America 😉 We still source and provide amazing pieces from quality vendors and have added accessories, handbags and a small selection of shoes to the line up. We have truly turned into the area’s denim dealer and have created such an amazing community of women 🙂

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
NO! Owning a small business is never smooth lol. Learning your customer, what works and doesn’t work for your business, dealing with those back end issues that randomly pop up– it can be a bumpy road for sure. We are always learning and pivoting to better serve our customers.

As you know, we’re big fans of Amber & Fig Boutique. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I graduated with a B.S. in Merchandising and Business from Georgia Southern. I have worked in NYC for a production company that helped small business owners. I also have about 15 years retail management and merchandising experience. I have helped open and close stores, trained teams, and all the in between for large corporate companies. I have also worked at a Chamber of Commerce which had me directly working with all kinds of small business owners.

I specialize in merchandising and effectively driving a team to a common goal.

Our shop offers quality items that are unique and usually have a fun back story. I am most proud of the denim fits we are constantly sourcing as they have become the staple of our shop and have continued to bring confidence to our shoppers.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
None of this would be possible without my husband who has always been my #1 fan and also my team of associates that truly make this business what it is. Without them we would not be where we are today!
