Hi Carrie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hello, and welcome to a small chapter of my story. My name is Carrie Smith-Davis, mother of 4 beautiful children and wife to my humblest husband, Mr. Jermaine Davis. Born and raised in Reidsville, Georgia, I am shaped by the values and culture of my hometown. This introduction is a canvas where I paint a picture of who I am, my interests, achievements, and my dreams! My journey began in Reidsville, GA, a place that has imbued in me values like loyalty, ambition, determination, community spirit, and adaptability. Being raised in a small city outside of bigger cities made me appreciate life more.
These values were further nurtured by my grandparents (Marie & Weston Smith), who raised me. My grandparents, who themselves were hard workers, instilled in me those same work ethics. They always encouraged me to pursue my passions and learn from my experiences. My journey has been filled with various experiences that have shaped me. From healing from childhood trauma with my birth mother, being bullied as a child, then dropping out of school at an early age because of it, and losing my grandfather at the peak of my life. Then boom, there I was, losing my grandmother & mother 2weeks apart.
I have learned valuable lessons such as to never give up, and to always stay in prayer, which continue to influence my daily life. In the realm of education, my interests have always been diverse, ranging from Culinary Arts, Business Management, and Criminal Justice. My time at Southeastern Technical & Strayer University has blended academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. A significant milestone in my academic journey so far has been receiving my Phlebotomy/CPR Instructor/DOT Urine/Public Notary certifications, which have been both challenging and rewarding. I worked for various companies since the age of 16. I started working for a company, Trane/ Ingersoll Rand 2017.
2019, COVID-19 came, which had me thinking about my family & financial stability a little bit deeper. In December 2019, I started my fashion business & travel business, “Fierce Luxury Travels LLC & Fierce Lux Boutique LLC. In my younger days, I took an interest in fashion & traveling while visiting my family in Brooklyn, New York. My aunts would take me on mini adventures, from visiting the Museum of Natural History and Broadway Way. You don’t see much cultural diversity here in Southeast GA. I was mobile with both fashion/travel businesses until one day, I decided to open a storefront. In 2022, while caring for my grandmother and mother, I obtained my CPR/BLS Instructor & Phlebotomy license to better care for them.
Best decisions I ever made. In late December 2023, my husband was injured in Iraq, which resulted in me closing my store to help support my husband & family’s needs. As of now, I have partnered with the American Red Cross, teaching CPR and providing support to local families that experience house fires and national disasters. Life hasn’t been easy for me, but as long as I keep God in everything, I will get through whatever test or trial!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was extremely rough & stressful. I’m from a small town where there is little to no support!
Not only is the support slim to none, there are veryyy little resources to help you along the way.

Our Mission at D & S Medical Training Services, our mission is to provide high-quality CPR training to individuals and businesses in our community. We believe that everyone should have the skills and knowledge necessary to save a life in an emergency. I’m known for a variety of things, from making custom keepsakes to baking/making deserts, selling fashion clothing, and Instructing CPR classes!
I think what sets me apart from others is the will to not let anything get in my way of achieving my goals. People will try to stop you from being ahead in life, and I don’t let that affect me at all. My most proud brand is all of them, but D & S Medical Training Services is taking me further than the others. We offer a variety of CPR classes, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Heartsaver CPR, and Pediatric CPR. Our classes are designed to meet the needs of individuals and businesses of all sizes.

Family matters most to me because once they are gone, you are left with nothing but memories.
