Today we’d like to introduce you to Glen Bowman.
Hi Glen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in California and did not know much about God. My life went downhill after college, so I reached out to Him and He has come through in amazing ways. We moved to Georgia in 2024 to take care of my mother-in-law who has MS. We did it on faith with no job lined up, but people reached out to me about the Darien Church of Christ needing a minister, so that is where I work today!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The church had to close at one point, but with the help of some Christians in the Savannah area (Richmond Hill), it has been back open since 2008.
As you know, we’re big fans of Darien church of Christ. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a church that believes the Bible is the inspired word of God, so we use it as our primary guidance for all things in our lives. We are known as a church that cares about its neighbors, especially those nearby and have need. We may differ from others based on our diverse membership, love for one another, and trust in God. We have pride in our God, as that is where it should be (1 Corinthians 1:31). We would like readers to know that we care about you, about God, and building that connection between you two!
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can reach out to us and work with us. We would especially appreciate food donations, as we recently stopped working with the organization that we received most of our food from and would still like to give generously to the community. Also, we are happy to study the Bible with you, pray with you, and give Scripture-led guidance.
