Inspiring Conversations with Jeff Crane of Craz-e Crane Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Crane.

Hi Jeff, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
From a young age, I was always drawn to music. One of my earliest memories was being gifted a radio clock. I would lie in bed at night and surf the radio waves. It was at that moment I knew my future would be one with music.

I became obsessed. From CDs, CD players, mp3s, and iPods, I had ’em all. And, when everything went digital, I was constantly downloading music. I would listen to whatever music I could get my ears on. In college, my obsession turned into a vision. A DJ out of Johnson City TN, Stan Nize, opened my eyes to the art of mixing, and that was the turning point in my career. I knew the music, and now I knew how to put it together to create an endless dance experience.

I have DJed in clubs, on radio, big arenas opened up for big named music artists and comedians, and DJed in venues across the US. But my true love is DJing weddings.

Most of my middle school, high school, and college days were spent running Cross Country. I was constantly training and prepping for big races. This is why I love weddings. Weddings are now my big race. I find weddings to be competitive. A competition within myself to be at my best for my clients and their guests. Weekdays I am studying music, training, and preparing for “race day” so that I can provide the best experience on wedding day.

My life revolves around music.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every day is a challenge. As I mentioned, I am competitive. I like to win. This mentally creates obstacles because I don’t like to sit. There are always ways to improve and get “faster”. Luckily, I now have my brother, Jared, on my team to help with these challenges and take Craz-e Crane Entertainment to the next level.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
André 3000, from the music group Outkast, wrote the song “Hey Ya!” In 1996. The song was not released till 2003. He states the reasoning is because the world was not ready. Pretty surprising, eh?
