Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Chapin.
Hi Jessica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started my Reiki journey in 2018. During a time when lots of facets of my life were evolving and moving, I discovered that I needed to make a change and start growing myself. My step-daughter had just left the nest and was headed off to college and I found myself needing more, spiritually and physically. One day, while working at my other business, imagiNations an international boutique in New Jersey, a customer came by and asked me to join her Reiki class. And here I was just asking the Universe for a sign of inspiration to keep growing and it literally walked in the door the same day.
I felt very lucky indeed. The Reiki class was amazing, and it has been a rewarding adventure ever since that day. Finding Reiki helped me discover my own needs in every sense. I was suffering from inflammation, anxiety, and depression. I needed to make some drastic changes to alleviate these afflictions from my life. Our society portrays addiction to common forms, but addiction really can be found in anything. Such as with food, but even with social media, or exercise, anything really can become overbearing and take over your life. But realize that we have it within us to overcome addictions, break the barriers, and take care of ourselves. I made several changes in my life.
One of them being that I became gluten-free and vegan to afford my body a massive detox. This allowed me to be more in tune with my higher self and soul purpose by cleansing my body. Then a mind, body, and spirit connection blossomed from within. The connection became very clear to me, and meditation and Reiki play a daily part in my life. Reiki is an ancient Japanese form of energy healing. Reiki is not linked or affiliated to any religion. The type of Reiki I practice is Holy Fire ®. Holy means whole and complete, and the holistic healing experience is for your body, mind, and spirit.
Reiki is a divinely guided life force energy. Reiki heals, purifies, offers guidance, and empowers. It is a non-invasive healing technique and may be given in person or from a distance. Reiki may be experienced like a wave of blissful energy, heat, colors, and/or visions, and is very relaxing. It increases the flow of Ki or Chi (life force) in areas of our Aura (energetic field) where it may be flowing slowly and opens our chakras more fully therefore preventing and healing disease in the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body.
Reiki can heal and promote the healing of emotional trauma, fears, addictions, anxiety, depression, stress release, insomnia, and physical pains. It heals on a cellular level and can heal karmic ties and unresolved past-life traumas. Reiki can be used to clear spaces, release energetic cords, release spirit attachments, for shadow work, remove blocks and negative energies. Reiki is beneficial during pregnancy as it can be used to release birth concerns, fears, past experiences that may have been traumatic. Studies have shown that Reiki reduces pain, stress, anxiety, nausea, and morning sickness during pregnancy and improves the quality of sleep.
Reiki can assist with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Studies have shown an improvement in overall mood, quality of life, fatigue, pain, and anxiety reduction. Reiki may be done during chemotherapy in person or in a distance healing session. Reiki is also a wonderful practice to use for healing PTSD. I offer private Reiki classes, group Reiki sessions as well as distance healing. Whether that be to offer Reiki or teach others the practice of Reiki, my purpose of practice is to help people. I am also certified in hypnosis.
I enjoy combining hypnotherapy, sound healing, and mediation in my Reiki sessions. Teaching Reiki and helping others is more important than cost. If there are any financial hardships, we can work around them. You can book an appointment, sign up for a class, or learn more at BlissReikiArts.com.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We all get into our heads and find limitations and it’s best to jump in and discover what the universe has in store for our futures. Trust that this is where you need to be. Consider my story, in two months’ time, I discovered new ways to practice Reiki and how to get my practice situated in Savannah.
Within a month, I had collaborated with Chrissy Joy of Flow of Light. We have collaborated events together, joining Yoga with Reiki. We also offer full and new moon ceremonies. My husband and I have recently purchased a beautiful home on Wilmington Island, and that home has a wonderful separate office space for me to practice Reiki. And it is all coming together, affirming to me that moving to Savannah was meant to be.
We’ve been impressed with Bliss Reiki Arts, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
