Inspiring Conversations with Kristin Pruitt of Fit and Fueled

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Pruitt.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A few years ago, I decided to hire a personal trainer to help me lose “that last 10 stubborn pounds of body weight”. That later morphed into so much more! I started educating myself about food, body mass, muscle versus fat, etc. and it became such a passion, I decided to become a personal trainer myself. Now my desire is to help women, especially busy mamas, to make fitness a priority and a seamless part of their everyday lifestyle. As a Christian, God commands us to take care of our bodies. So it makes sense to me that a healthy, fit lifestyle does along with that!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is hard to convince people to pay for a fitness coach. Everyone thinks they can go online and download a free workout plan, and it will be the magic cure. Or many people look for the next shiny fad diet that comes along. It really is the simple things that work, discipline, whole healthy foods, and movement on a regular basis. Having a personal fitness coach to guide you every step of the way and hold you accountable makes all the difference in the world.

We’ve been impressed with Fit and Fueled, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a busy, homeschooling Mom of 5 myself. And as such, I coach women, especially busy moms over 30, in making fitness and healthy nutrition a priority, and a seamless part of their everyday busy life. I also have a certification in coaching women – specializing in hormone issues.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
There is a big push towards getting women in the gym and especially in the weightlifting realm. Strength training is vital, especially as our hormones decline later in life, for keeping bone mass what it should be and staying independent in our later years.
