Inspiring Conversations with Ryan Fann of Reform Prosthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Fann.

Hi Ryan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I lost my left foot at age 3. Began playing football at age 5. Played all kinds of sports growing up and was very hard on my prosthetic devices, as they broke frequently. Was lucky enough play in the Tennessee East/West all star football game that lead to an ESPN interview. Post interview, I learned about the Paralympics. Began running track at Tennessee State University. I competed at the 2004 Athens Paralympics winning a gold medal and world record in the 4x400m sprint relay. Won a bronze in the 400m dash open. Continued competed at the Paralympic level until 2008. I began working in prosthetics at that point. I was inspired by 2 really great prosthetist who helped me as a patient and guided me throughout my prosthetic career. Fast-forward to 2012 and that is when i moved from Nashville to Savannah to open the prosthetics department for Savannah Vascular Institute. They decided to sell their prosthetic department in 2019, which led to me opening the Savannah Branch of Reform Prosthetics. Reform Prosthetics has been in business since Jan 2 2020.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I broke over 30 prosthetics in Highschool alone so my biggest struggle growing up was having a prosthesis that would keep up with my needs.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Reform Prosthetics?
