Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Robinson.
Alicia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A&E Party Creations was started 4 years ago out of love for decorating. I woke up one morning and just decided to start doing it professionally because of the encouragement and support from my family. I decided that I wanted to leave a legacy behind for my kids and something that they can carry on in the future. Once all the paperwork was done I decided the next step was rentals. I started renting the typical throne chairs for events. But with the carpentry skills of my husband I was able to expand my business to renting other items.
MY decorating skills started off by doing my children and nieces and nephew parties. But I knew I wanted to decorate more and challenge myself so baby showers and weddings was the next step. I love when a client calls and text me pics of ideas they have for an event. I love the challenge of trying to recreate their ideas and bringing it to life. My staff consist of my husband, sister, mom, aunt and uncle. Without them, I would not have been able to reach my full potential.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working in this industry have been very challenging. From the late nights doing deliveries and pickups. To doing 2 or 3 events in a day and being exhausted.
One of the biggest challenge my team and I face was not having the correct inventory on the date of an event because of shipping issue. We had to improvise and recreate the look of the event so that our client was still satisfied with the decor.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a business owner, my motto is teamwork and excellent customer service Why? Because without your staff your business will not flourish. Without your clients, your business would not grow. What sets me apart from others is that I strive to give excellent customer service and try to be as professional as possible.
