Life & Work with Arden Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arden Jones.

Hi Arden, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Hi there!  My name is Arden Jones.  I was born and raised in Columbus, Ga.  Most of my teens and early years were spent working in restaurants.  During this time, I realized my passion for serving the community, which led me to acquire my Real Estate license in Georgia.  After a year of working in the Columbus market, I gathered the courage to move to the city which I have always loved, Savannah!  I have now lived here for 3 years, and im fulfilled by helping others through the quest for homeownership.  I recently partnered with a brokerage out of Atlanta, Real Tall Real Estate, to help launch the Savannah division.  My ultimate goal is to grow a team so that I can continue to serve Savannah in a larger way.

Working in local restaurants, it always felt like we were serving the community more than just great meals.  It felt like we were offering the community a trusted experience through dining.  Realizing this has allowed me to continue to do the same here in Savannah.  I made it a priority to become involved.  I joined the Junior League of Savannah, where I have formed so many wonderful friendships and now hold a leadership position.

I became a member of the Telfair Museums William Jay Society, and joined the homebuilders association of Savannah as well as the Young Professionals Network with the Savannah Board of Realtors. I instantly fell in love with this city… the culture, the food, the history, and most importantly the people!

Through Real Estate, I became a resource for my clients (many of whom were moving from out of state) on the lifestyle that Savannah could offer. I would recommend the best dinner spots, tell them the history of different buildings downtown, and even let them know where they can get their hair done.  After all, my business is built on relationships and trust and I feel that extends beyond the actual transaction.

Aside from real estate, I recently launched another passion project! I decided to start an online women’s boutique, Pembrooke Proper, because I wanted to create a place in which women could easily find everyday wear that is polished and trendy.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t know many realtors that would describe their journey as a smooth road, in fact, 87% of realtors fail within the first five years! In Columbus, I had pretty quickly built up a consistent pipeline of business but when I decided to move to Savannah that meant starting over and losing my sphere of influence.

I supplemented my income by serving tables so there were many, many late nights spent stressing about money, on top of the trial and error of finding a brokerage that worked for me.

Like many people, I have faced my fair share of negativity. I was told many times that I wouldn’t last a year, that I should go ahead and quit because It was going to be hard and I wouldn’t be able to handle it, not to mention I was constantly doubted because I was very young when I started.

I typically am able to maintain a very strong headspace and motivate myself but I would be lying if I said Imposters syndrome never kicked in. Because of this, I always aim to be a motivating voice to new realtors coming into the industry.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been a licensed Realtor for 4 years.

At Real Tall Real Estate our mission is to deliver the highest quality of service while helping our clients achieve their goals to live their best lives!  Our brokerage focuses on white glove client service with an entrepreneurial spirit. I believe in educating all of my clients so that they have a true understanding of what is happening in the process as well as providing clear and consistent communication along the way!

How do you define success?
I think success is fluid.

I believe that your definition of what you consider success can change on a daily basis. Some days, I think that to be a success I need to accomplish every major goal I have set for myself.

Then on other days, I think back to where I started, and compare it to where I am now and in those moments I feel that I have already succeeded.
