Life & Work with Breagan Pittman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breagan Pittman.

Hi Breagan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Well as you know most girls are typically always into make-up, but that wasn’t the case for me.

I didn’t really like makeup in middle school and I never wore it in high school, I just chose to sleep; in college, all of my friends went out of town for college and I stayed in our hometown, so when I was bored I start watching YouTube and that’s when I found my love for makeup.

I’m a self-taught makeup artist and over the years I’ve just done make-up for free and for fun, but I finally started my business as a makeup artist during the Covid of 2020 and I’ve just been loving it ever since!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Make-up artistry is never a smooth road, there are so many competitors in this field, but luckily there are so many clients who all have different tastes.

It’s just rewarding to know that I’ll always have this job because people always want to wear makeup and there are so many different ways to customize people’s make-up to where they feel beautiful so that I’m able to do people’s makeup and I’m not always competing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a makeup artist!

Most clients come to me for a more natural glam instead of super heavy makeup looks even though I do those as well. I’m most proud that I finally started doing this and put myself out there. I didn’t really advertise that I did makeup before because there are so many makeup artists so what made me different from the rest.

Every makeup artist is different because we all have our own techniques we all do makeup differently none of us do it exactly the same, but I definitely think my personality sets me apart from the rest of them!

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I really love Ally Yost’s podcast girly pop! I tend to stick to music though I’m not much of a reader.
