Life & Work with Brian Rendon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Rendon.

Hi Brian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began back in early 2016. I started as a promoter for a nightclub called Elan.

We booked international EDM artists from around the world. In those years of promoting, I had a passion for photography, but never really pursued it. Not until 2020, when the pandemic struck, that I take time off to actually pursue it. I saved up to buy a camera.

Once Elan was able to host regular events again, I transitioned to become the resident photographer of the club.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say the road was somewhat slippery.

If I had time to pursue my passion years ago, there’s no telling where I would be. I believe things happen for a reason. The time dedicated to my passion has allowed me to make many personal and professional connections that I did not have previously.

And for that, I am grateful for where I am today and super excited for years to come.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a club photographer, for primarily venue-style events.

I’ve been doing photography for over a year now. In that year, I’ve learned so much along the way; from meeting famous international EDM artists/local artists to other well-known photographers. What I love about this job, is capturing the right moments including emotions, stories, and personalities.

Whenever I get that perfect shot, of capturing the person at the moment, THAT is what I am proud of. In my time as a photographer, I’ve seen other craftsmanship that has inspired me to do better. As for my sets, whenever I take photos, I try to incorporate a lot of colors, silhouettes, and some vintage-style elements.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Not too many people know that I love crime scene documentaries and anime. Crime scene documentaries are my guilty pleasures. My favorite anime is Dragon Ball Z. I actually have the 4-Star Dragon Ball tattooed on my right arm.
