Life & Work with Carla Cladd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Cladd.

Carla Cladd

Carla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out with a iPhone 4 ! Yes a iPhone 4 lol but that really push me to become better . I had photoshoots and all with that iPhone . As times went by i finally got my first camera then that really clicked like “man I really want to be a photographer so I kept at it until I finally bought my first professional camera and things just kept getting better and better from there. These last couple of months has been trying from my camera getting stolen , had to use one of my friends camera just so I could finish out some photoshoots I had already book ,losing some clientele and just feeling like I couldn’t do it anymore but I just kept at cause I knew this is what I wanted to do! So I bought a new camera it’s not like my old one but that camera has gotten me back to where I wanted to be ! I have a bigger studio space and new clientele coming but my true clientele never left me they stuck with me through it all! They never let me feel bad about myself and I think them so much for that!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road . Like I stated in the first statement my camera got stolen so that put me so far behind and now I’m just getting back to where I was before my camera got stolen .

Times where I just wanted to give up because I wasn’t getting any business .

Even losing inspiration or feeling like this isn’t making me happy any more but I didn’t let those negative thoughts take over

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a professional photographer

I specialize in creative photography

I’m known for my photography and the way I captured people in their essence.

I’m most proud of my studio I have now and my loyal clients that never left my side.

I think what sets me apart from others is I look at my photographs as work of art not just photos . I always say I’m a artist first and a photographer second.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Plan things out !

Set good intentions for yourself!

Always believed in your self first because if you don’t believe in yourself why should anyone else.

Never give up even when it gets hard because in the end it will be all worth it !
