Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Cain
Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I knew at a young age, hair was my passion. I started my career in doing hair and makeup for local pageants. As my clients got older and aged out of pageants ,it was time to shift my focus on my true passion of doing hair full time.I went to cosmetology school and opened a salon in 2005. My daughter attended cosmetology school,graduated in 2016 and had a love for all things make-up! From that point on,The Glam Squad Lowcountry was formed. A mother/daughter duo! I put away my makeup brushes as my daughter took over doing all the makeup for events. We ventured out to weddings and we both knew this was the industry we wanted to be in, we love doing Hair and Makeup for Weddings, Proms, Photo shoots and anything else glamorous! But nothing compares to the feeling of making a Bride feel so beautiful on her wedding day!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been “roses”. Like anything else in life, you have to work hard. That includes promoting yourself, long hours and lots of travel but in the end, it’s all totally worth it!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in on location wedding hair and makeup. We bring the whole set up and you truly feel like you’re getting celebrity treatment! We feel so honored when a Bride sees herself as a “Bride” for the first time all glammed up. That feeling of pride never gets old! We are a mother/daughter duo as lead stylist and makeup artist , however we work with many professionals in our area, we value the motto community over competition- we love working with our artist friends!
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Sometimes you have to take risk, try new things, push yourself out of the comfort zone. I’m always willing to try something I’ve never done before
