Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Woodard.
Jasmine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My passion for hair started at a very young age. I would start doing my dolls hair and creating different styles. I would play in my friends’ hair in elementary school. I am where I am today because the trust that I kept in God. Also, my kids kept me motivated through those times that I wanted to give up! Every day that I woke to see them it made me want to push harder towards my goals. They kept me focus and to stay on the road that I am today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth path for me. I started hair school in 2011, and I didn’t finished school until 2020. It was a huge gap of me going to school on and off through those years. Some of the struggles was trying to balance with having kids between jobs, finances, and daycares. So, I became an at-home mom with my kids so that I didn’t have to worry about any of those things. When you become a mommy your life shift. You have to put them first, and sometimes that means putting your dreams on hold to make sure they are taken care. So, the struggle is was wanted to take care of both things that I loved but know ing I couldn’t do both at the time.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in natural hair care! I’m Very big on building healthy hair. I’m known for helping my clients to help restore their hair by Building regimens that will help their hair flourish. I’m most proud of my perseverance through all the obstacles that I faced. What set me apart from others that I’m a diverse hairstylist. I work with all types of hair.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I learned to never compare your timing with others. Just because someone finish before you that don’t mean you’re not as good as them; it’s just their time. I learned to trust the process and wait for my turn.
