Life & Work with Jerrika Hinton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerrika Hinton.

Hi Jerrika, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I became a licensed esthetician in 2020, but I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2015 when I was only 18 years old. My love for all things beauty and skincare started when I got my very first job at Ulta Beauty as a beauty advisor.

I went on to work for a couple of brands as a cosmetic consultant, starting with Estee Lauder, and later moving to Lancome. After working in cosmetics for so long, I decided to further my career and attend esthetics school. Now I’m currently a trained lash artist and a skincare specialist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been a few curves in the road. I went on to complete an associate’s Degree in Business Technology. It was hard while working full time but it was definitely worth it to have something to pair with my esthetician license.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I think what sets me apart from other estheticians and beauty professionals is my love for creating and sharing content. I love filming content to show potential clients what their guest experience would be like if they were to receive a service with me. I love editing, making graphics, and sharing them on my social media and Youtube channel for my clients and supporters.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
An important lesson that I think we all learned from Covid is that our sanitization protocols are effective and necessary to ensure the safety of our clients and we shouldn’t take it lightly.
