Life & Work with Katie Quackenbush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Quackenbush.

Hi Katie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After graduating with a marketing degree, I moved home to Las Vegas and soon found myself working for the UFC. During my time there I ran their official fan club, worked in fan engagement, marketing, and eventually social media. I left the UFC to move to San Diego and worked in social media for Tipsy Elves (you may remember them from the early days of Shark Tank), after that I did some freelance work that included a project for Nike. I wanted to find a career opportunity where I could work with multiple clients in multiple industries while still flexing my social media and creative marketing muscles when I found a post for Petrucci Marketing. I started working for Tracy at this boutique agency in 2018 in Carlsbad and have been on the team ever since, even though we moved to Savannah at the end of 2018! This career allows me to continue to grow as a marketing professional while I am home with my two small children; Noah (3) and Grady (almost 1).

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Early in my career, I had some great opportunities to work hard, put in the time, and travel often. I knew once our family started to grow I would want to be working for a company with a leader that nurtured a work-family balance. I really hit the jackpot when Tracy hired me. She’s mentored me through everything from marketing to motherhood. Just like Instagram’s algorithm changes ALL the time- that’s life as a working parent. And we get that!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At our agency, I work on social media management and strategy. But what does that even mean, right? For me, this primarily includes everything from working on a client’s overall content strategy across their platforms, Instagram management, content creation, Facebook management, online reputation management (ie. Yelp, Facebook Reviews, Google Business, etc), and email marketing.

My favorite things to do currently include working on client Instagram Stories and Instagram Reels. I think they’re super fun and engaging and make the Instagram platform more fun and dynamic place to have a business presence.

What sets us apart from other agencies would most definitely be our creativity and our thoughtfulness. As a team, we are always looking for new concepts to activate for our clients. Also, we genuinely care about the success and satisfaction of our customers.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I am so proud and honored to be a part of the Petrucci Marketing family. Tracy has played a huge role in my professional and personal life as I have grown in this season of motherhood and marketing in the ever-changing digital era. We have an amazing team that all provide unique skills that are allowing us to grow and expand our services and it really excites me for the future.

The years before I was at Petrucci Marketing I was led and mentored by incredible professionals that invested time and a lot of heart into my development. These special people are: Edward Muncey (UFC), Jessica Roosli (UFC/Nike), and Shanda Maloney (UFC). Their efforts to take the time to show me what it means to care about the people you work with and care about the work you do created the foundation and set me on a solid pathway to becoming the marketing professional I am today.
