Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Christian.
Hi Lindsey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a child, I always had a camera in my hand. Endless amounts of disposable cameras transformed into digital as I got older, with thousands of pictures still in my childhood bedroom. When my first child was born, I wanted to document every step of the way.
I had a Canon camera in my closet collecting dust so I decided to get it out and start learning with my child being the subject. Months into my new hobby, I started getting inquiries for photo sessions and the rest is history! I have come a long way and still have a ways to go. One thing I love about being a photographer is you always have room to grow.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting your own business is anything but smooth, especially with my reserved personality. Putting myself out there was my biggest struggle and brought along a ton of “what if’s” and self-doubt. What if nothing comes of this? What if no one wants to use me as their photographer? Everything works out the way it’s supposed to.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a light and airy lifestyle photographer based out of Saint Simons Island. I love to capture families, couples, seniors, and newborns. Candids are my absolute favorite and I love watching families have fun behind the lens!
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Always take the photos! You just never know what tomorrow brings.
