Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyn Walsh.
Hi Lyn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I’m originally from New York, born and raised. I’ve been in the south going on 8 years now, and love it. I certainly don’t miss the New York winters! I come from a big family with four awesome siblings. I’m happily married to my husband, Michael Fortunato, and I have a wonderful stepdaughter named Courtney, who’s in her last year of college at Davidson College in NC. Oh, and we can’t forget about our adorable German Shepherd puppy, Scout. He’s quite the looker!
That sounds lovely. Can you share a bit about your background and interests?
Absolutely! I’ve always had a creative side. Ever since I was a kid, art was my thing. I was always drawing, painting or doing something creative. As I grew older, I decided to pursue a career in graphic design. It’s been an incredible journey, and I still do it to this day. I have over 25 years of experience in the design industry, mostly working with top financial companies like Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, to name a couple. I’ve worked my way up from a graphic designer to Art Director, Design Manager, and even Global Design Manager. Today I continue to ‘create’ both in my professional role and in my personal life as one of my favorite pastimes. I’m also an avid gym-rat. 😉
Impressive! Did you have any memorable experiences during your career?
Absolutely! One standout experience was when I relocated to London for a couple of years as a Global Design Manager for Goldman Sachs’ in-house design studios. It was an amazing opportunity that allowed me to broaden my management and business skills, building and overseeing design studios around the globe. Plus, it gave me the chance to travel extensively throughout Europe and immerse myself in various cultures. It was truly eye-opening and an adventure I’ll always cherish.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is never truly easy. I’ve overcome some pretty big challenges. But I have a warrior spirit and always say that nothing is impossible if you set you mind to it.
I made the bold decision to re-invent myself as a Realtor after 25+ years as a designer—relocated from the north to the south—left family and friends behind—left a successful design career… to start my new life here. So yes, there were challenges. But as I said…I have a warrior spirit, and never let fear of the unknown stop me from making changes in my life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Sure. I’m both a Realtor with HomesFinder Realty Group and a Design Consultant for Ethan Allen. I love helping people make dreams come true. I believe that a home is more than just a place to live—it’s a sanctuary where memories are made and cherished and families grow. So, whether they are looking to purchase their dream home, wanting to do a complete interior decor makeover on their existing home, or wanting a professional and creative approach to selling their property…I’m here. It’s such a privilege for me to be a part of that transformative journey with my clients. It really is a win-win combination.
What do you envision for your future as you expand your design and real estate career?
Looking ahead, my plans are grounded in passion and a strong drive for success. I’m committed to providing top-notch design and real estate services for as long as I possibly can. This isn’t just about supporting my family—it’s about doing what I love and bringing happiness to people’s lives. I am grateful for the opportunities that lie ahead and excited to explore new avenues, forge valuable partnerships, and create memorable experiences for my clients. The future holds immense potential, and I am prepared to seize every opportunity that comes my way.
