Today we’d like to introduce you to Peyton Coursey.
Hi Peyton, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Peyton and I’m behind the face of Peyton Elizabeth Photography! I got a Canon Rebel T5 back in 6th grade from my grandma and began taking pictures of landscapes and sunsets.
Fast forward a few years, my high school youth group was looking for a photographer and I said “why not?” That’s when my passion really sparked for photography! I wanted to turn my passion into a business, and that’s what I did! Peyton Elizabeth Photography was born in my junior year of high school.
It started off with just taking my family and close friends’ pictures and now I am booking out months in advance! I’m so blessed to call this my job and capture timeless memories for all ages!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It most definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! It was hard to get bookings at first, photography businesses and really any small business is spread through social media and word of mouth, and before I got my name out there that part was difficult.
Another thing is people undertake me for my age!
I’m a college student now but when I began many people didn’t “trust” that a high schooler could do the work of a professional. I still will go weeks without getting any bookings but I just have to look for the positive times and how awesome my job really is!!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a South Georgia Photographer who specializes in portraits and small weddings!
I’m mainly known for my senior and family portraits! I’m most proud of myself for starting a successful and growing business while I was still in high school! I think what sets me apart from others is that I have a very unique, yet natural style of photography.
Although I hand edit every image I deliver, I believe in natural beauty and being yourself so I never heavily edit a person’s appearance in pictures!
What matters most to you? Why?
Client satisfaction is what matters the most to me. I want all of my clients to have a positive experience from start to finish! I make it a goal to always be outgoing and have a positive attitude.
Making my clients happy is what helps Peyton Elizabeth Photography stay alive, and that is why it matters the most to me.
