Life & Work with Sharleen Sanchez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharleen Sanchez. She shared her story with us below:

This born-and-raised Alaskan grew up fishing, hiking, and camping. Sharleen studied at the University of Anchorage Alaska (UAA) while being the manager of a health-oriented coffee shop. With her love language being Acts of Service and managing the hut for 5 years, she enjoyed being a highlight of people’s day and thought, “How can I serve people on a deeper more meaningful level?” Then late 2019, she decided to pursue her career in Real Estate.

Being both driven and eager, she took BOLD while taking her pre-licensing course and was able to launch her career. This allowed her to be able to get her first client under contract in just a little over a week of being licensed. Starting Real Estate in Alaska provided her with a wealth of knowledge to bring to Savannah, Georgia in 2020, where her fiance resided. Fighting through adversity not knowing a single person in the area she has since helped well over 120 families close on homes in the Greater Savannah area. Being the top agent in both her previous teams, she decided it was time to go out on her own and start her own business. Sharleen strategically partnered with an innovative hyper-local brokerage Salt Marsh Realty to continue her mission of serving her clients and community on a higher level.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Never is! Having moved to Savannah from Alaska, I didn’t know a single soul. So had to restart my whole database and just recently going solo, so having to do it a second time around. Savannah also has a very different real estate compared to Alaska (material, installation, year built, etc). Adapting as it’s a cultural shock being on the complete opposite side of the country and opposite climate. However, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I have emersed myself in this historic charming city we now call home.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Sharleen serves each of her clients with these 4 foundational pillars in mind: Integrity, Efficiency, Empathy, and Commitment. With a diverse and experienced skill set rooted from Alaska Real Estate all the way to high volume production in coastal Georgia, she brings an advanced level of competency in many areas of the buying/selling process. Having a real estate portfolio of her own, she specializes with investments, new construction, first-time homebuyers, and (military) relocations. Utilizing her age to her advantage, she hustles to fight for her clients each and every step of the way. Sharleen is also a proud member of the National Women’s Council of Realtors in Savannah and is in the process of acquiring her Broker’s license. She is also, a member of the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce and founder of the Richmond Hill Paw Pals- A monthly event for fellow dog owners to cultivate a safe and socialized dog community.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
There is no real playbook when first getting licensed. You have to just get out there. Ask questions, find a mentor, and absorb every little thing along the way. Growth is found from times of discomfort and putting yourself out there.
