Life & Work with Temakha of Savannah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Temakha

Hi Temakha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Peace and power dear soul, I’m greatful to have this moment to share with you and I appreciate you creating a moment to tune in. It is my prayer that a seed from my life garden can serve and assist you upon the good soil of your life journey.

My journey is truly my testimony and the poetry in motion of a young womban dancing through life’s ups and downs to the beat of her own drum.

I love the arts and have always been inspired by the wonders of nature. Since I was a child, I have poured that inspiration into various art mediums always fueled by my deep love for creative expression.

I began building upon the mission of my healing art hub, Abundaverse around 2017 as I shifted my focus from my first career as a professional model to tend to the needs that surfaced regarding my spiritual and mental health.

Today I am known as a modern day medicine womban providing abunda-remedies including, award winning music, visual art, and engaging community experiences known as drum circles. As a creative entrepreneur, I provide my art, products, teachings to sew seeds of mental wellness into my self, my family, my community and the world.

My singing and songwriting career began in 2019 with the release of my first single entitled, Nouri. Success swiftly followed as I received the Indie Music Channel awards for Best Female RnB Artist 2019 and Best Music Video in 2020. Also In January of 2020, I released my first self published book entitled, Abundaverse : The Remedy.

In this body of work, I share personal reflections about how the remedy of self love and forgiveness set me on a path to produce the art, music and services of my mission which are already receiving international appreciation. A great assistance in my journey came from my exploration of the ancient healing art of Kemetic Reiki. Learning and becoming a practitioner of this ancient science has equipped me with self therapy tools that have changed my life and deeply influenced my creative productions.

Currently I am in the process of building my first studio recorded music album which has hints of rnb and hip hop influences. Along this journey my team and I created Abundaverse Chakra Meditation Album. I consider reiki to be a massage for the inner body and this project serves as a session one can access on anytime and or place for support in maintaining inner peace. I also have a complimentary ebook available for those eager to get the most out of this meditative journey.

As a visual artist my work has been featured in solo and group exhibits in Georgia and South Carolina. On my site, Abundaverse.com you can explore a collection of apparel, prints and tapestries which feature my original expressions.

I am currently based in sunny Savannah Georgia with my team as we complete my first studio album. As we build, I curate the building of community as I faciltate sound healing drum circles on a monthly basis.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Self development comes with its fair share of challenges but I feel a major one I have over come was my decision to shift my focus from my career as a professional model to my mental health and wellbeing even though I experienced family members who couldn’t understand my choice.

It was also a bit challenging to trust my inner guidance over what I had done and could tangibly see. The biggest challenge to overcome was trust. Trusting my self while laying down my old life with no real clear vision of what the nu one would be like.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an audio visual artist using my gifts to shine light on practices and teachings which have supported my mental health and wellbeing.

I specialize in being my authentic self and immersing my creativity among many mediums to express the themes I gather from my meditations.

I’m known for many things, many know me as a professional model but more recently I am known as a music artist and a drum circle facilitator.

I’m most proud of my resolve to trust my inner guidance and connection with the Most High over the appearances or persuasion of other people, my past, or the world around me.

The sincere acceptance I have for myself, and appreciation for my peace and my power coupled with my 6’2″ frame is what supports me in standing out among other dear souls.
