Meet Amazin’ Grace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amazin’ Grace.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Savannah, Ga; I was raised by my mom Donna Boles who was a single- parent. My mom kept me in church all my life, When I was a kid we started going to the Seed Church. I was about 8 or 9 years old I believe. The Seed Church has been home for 20 plus years now. I grew up there, that’s where I learned about God, about the spiritual foundation, having a heart for people, how to use my spiritual authority and so much more.

As I grew up, music was always a passion, my uncle was a DJ so I was always around music, basketball was also a passion of mine.  I started writing music in 2005 being a part of a gospel rap group titled “the Goodfellas” with two of my best friends. Later on down the line, we split and went in different directions. I continued to stay down the music path. September 3rd, 2013, I released my first solo album titled “My Journey” featuring hit songs “Keep Pressin’ On” and “This 4 My City.” 2013 is the year I also married my high school sweetheart Jennifer Grace. She is the mother of my two daughters Kalea and Jayda Grace.

In 2017, I released my sophomore album titled “Born Winner” with hit singles “Jesus” and “Higher.” Amazin’ Grace is the creator and owner of A.O.Ministries which stands for Amazin’ Opportunity Ministries. AOM is a gospel-based record label with artists of all music types gospel rap, praise, and worship, etc. I wanted to create a label that gives opportunity to the artist that serves God, of course, serve in their local church, has a heart for people, and winning lost souls for Jesus but is overlooked due to the lack of opportunity.

How I got to where I am today is by praying a lot, never giving up even though I may have wanted to. I still have a ways to go and a lot left to do.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road, it hasn’t been easy at all. A couple of years ago, I thought I was done writing music. I was frustrated, I didn’t think people like my songs, I started to second guess myself and so many other things going through my head.

I put my dream down until one day I was in Sunday service and my pastor said from the pulpit “Some of you have put down your dreams and it’s time to pick it back up,” that statement was for me. I also had friends encouraging me and praying for me, telling me not to stop and not to quit.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Gospel Rap artist, what I’m most proud of, I would say is when someone hears my music and they say that song is dope or that song changed my life. When I write a song my intention is to draw you to Jesus and those who don’t know him will get to know him. I didn’t want to write songs that glorify things that God is against. I want people of all ages to listen to and enjoy my music, it has a positive message.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Pursuing your dream is a risk. The moment I step in the recording booth it’s a risk, just because I like the song I’m recording doesn’t mean other people will like it, that’s a risk. When I put out my new merch line some will like it and some won’t, that’s another risk. The thing is I won’t live in fear or wonder what if, I serve God.
