Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Fargo.
Hi Brandon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am truly grateful for where I am today. Although I grew up very fortunate, my story is one of continuous perseverance. I’ve had ups and downs and jumped into multiple industries over the last 20 years. It’s been a wild ride from working for my father in California, who was a Developer, building custom homes in La Jolla, then going into the stock market after the 2008 financial crisis to opening my own marketing company. I’ve learned a tremendous amount about business, life, and most of all people. In 2019 I shut my marketing business down, broke up with the woman I thought I was going to marry, and came to visit my aunt here in Savannah to take a break and figure it out. Two weeks later, the Pandemic hit, and I thought to myself, “I’m not going back to California.” I was looking for something else anyway, and sometimes the universe provides a path that you could have never imagined. Savannah has become my home; the people here are like no other that I have experienced. After working for a local TV station here, I came full circle back and got my Real Estate license. Real Estate truly is my passion. Not because of the money but because of the people. Every day it’s a different story, a different problem that someone has, and I get to use my skills and everything I have learned through my own struggles and different careers to solve those problems. There is no better feeling than making a deal happen that in no way, shape or form should have happened. To see the look on someone’s face or hear in their voice the gratitude they have makes all the hard work and stress worth it at the end of the day. Real Estate can be one of the most important investments of a person’s life, and I’m truly grateful I get to be a part of that. I strive to not only help people I work for but am trying to be a major part in the community here in Savannah and give back as much as I can.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth ride at all, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. From a young age, the plan was to learn and work for my family and then take over the business. I learned early how quickly things can change, and they changed with the drop of a dime. From making multiple six figures at the age of 22 to then going and working as a tree trimmer within a 2-week span just to be able to pay the rent was an extremely humbling experience. When I worked in the stock market, I was extremely successful at that but woke up one day and realized that it just wasn’t for me. I worked in Marketing and advertising for years after that and realized how brutal of a business it really is. But through all the ups and downs, I’ve learned a tremendous amount. I’ve taken every pitfall and learned from it and gained experience from all of it that I think most people never will experience in their entire lifetime.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The simple answer is I help people buy and sell Real Estate, but how many Realtors are there in the world right? My specialty and really the reason why I have been successful in every career I’ve had is helping people. I never try to pressure someone into doing something. My job is to listen to what their problem or goal is and find a way to solve that. I think my background in real estate, marketing, investments, etc… sets me apart because I have a deep understanding of what information is needed in order for someone to make the right decision.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
The only advice I have is if you do right by people and look out for their best interest, not your own, everything will fall into place.
