Today we’d like to introduce you to Breeyen Goddard.
Hi Breeyen , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Minnesota and absolutely loved it, but I always knew that the first chance I had to experience somewhere warmer, I would take it. That mindset ultimately led me to choose Clemson University for college, where I spent four incredible years that shaped both my personal and professional path.
While at Clemson, I served as both Vice President and President of my sorority, roles that gave me hands-on leadership experience and responsibility at a large scale. I oversaw everything from chapter meetings and member development to planning and executing events, which is where I truly discovered my passion for organization, logistics, and creating meaningful experiences. Academically, I pursued a degree in Business Management with a minor in Event Management, which allowed me to pair creative event work with strong operational and business foundations.
During my junior year, I secured an internship with an event planning company in Minnesota, where I spent about a year and a half learning the ins and outs of the event and wedding industry. That experience was pivotal—I gained real-world exposure to client communication, vendor management, timelines, budgets, and the behind-the-scenes work that goes into executing successful weddings.
After graduating, I made the move to Savannah, Georgia, to join the Stunning & Brilliant Events team. Today, I serve as a Lead Planner, where I have the opportunity to work closely with couples and clients to bring their vision to life. I’m fortunate to plan and execute weddings and events across the United States, combining creativity, strategy, and attention to detail to deliver unforgettable experiences.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but I think those challenges are what shaped me the most. One of the biggest adjustments early on was learning how much responsibility comes with planning events that are deeply personal and often high-pressure. Weddings especially come with high expectations, tight timelines, and emotional stakes, and learning to manage all of that—while still delivering a calm, polished experience—took time.
Another challenge was stepping into leadership roles early, both in college and professionally. Being responsible for teams, budgets, and large-scale events forced me to grow quickly and learn how to make confident decisions, communicate clearly, and problem-solve in real time. There were moments where I had to learn through trial and error, especially when balancing creativity with logistics and business realities.
Moving to a new city after graduation was also a leap. Starting over professionally and personally pushed me outside my comfort zone, but it taught me adaptability, independence, and how to build strong relationships in a new environment.
Overall, the challenges weren’t setbacks—they were learning moments that helped me develop resilience, attention to detail, and the ability to stay composed under pressure. Those experiences are what allow me to confidently lead events and support clients today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a lead wedding and event planner with Stunning & Brilliant Events, and I specialize in planning elevated, detail-driven weddings and events across the United States. My role goes far beyond logistics—I focus on creating a seamless experience for both my clients and their guests, making sure every detail feels intentional, polished, and true to the couple’s vision.
I’m known for my ability to balance creative design with strong organization and execution. I love the design side of events, but what really sets me apart is how strategic and calm I am behind the scenes. Clients often tell me they trust me completely because I’m proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to handle high-pressure situations without letting stress show.
What I’m most proud of is the level of trust I build with my clients. Planning a wedding is incredibly personal, and being able to guide couples through that process—while making them feel supported, heard, and excited—is something I don’t take lightly. Seeing everything come together on the wedding day and knowing the couple can fully enjoy it because they feel taken care of is the most rewarding part of my job.
What truly sets me apart from others is my background in both business and events, combined with leadership experience at a young age. I understand budgets, contracts, and logistics just as well as aesthetics and guest experience. I’m also highly adaptable—I’ve planned events in many different locations and environments, which has taught me how to think quickly, communicate clearly with vendors, and anticipate challenges before they arise.
At the end of the day, I don’t just plan events—I manage experiences, relationships, and expectations, and I take a lot of pride in doing that at a very high level.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Savannah is how effortlessly it blends beauty, creativity, and community. The city feels alive in a way that’s hard to describe—you can walk through the historic district or along the squares and feel both calm and inspired at the same time. The parks and green spaces are one of my favorite parts; places like the tree-lined squares and Forsyth Park make it easy to slow down, go for a walk, clear your head, or meet up with friends. It’s a city that truly encourages you to be present.
Savannah also has an incredible food scene. The restaurants here feel thoughtful and intentional—whether it’s a cozy neighborhood spot or a more elevated dining experience, there’s so much creativity in the way food is done. It’s one of those cities where dining feels like an experience, not just a meal.
What really sets Savannah apart, though, is the people. There’s such a strong creative energy here, and the community feels genuinely kind and welcoming. Artists, entrepreneurs, designers, and small business owners all seem to support one another, which creates a really inspiring environment to live and work in. As someone in the events industry, that sense of collaboration and creativity is incredibly motivating.
If I had to choose something I like least, it would be the growing pains that come with how popular Savannah has become—things like heavier tourism during peak seasons and occasional congestion in the historic areas. That said, it’s also a sign of how special the city is, and even with that, Savannah never loses its charm or sense of warmth.
Overall, Savannah feels like a place where you can build a meaningful life—professionally and personally—while being surrounded by beauty, creativity, and a strong sense of community.
