Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Scott.
Hi Carlos, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Professionally, I’m a veteran PR and marketing executive in Atlanta. Over the last 3 decades my firm has been blessed to represent a diverse pool of clients from 10 Olympic Gold Medalists, 5 Super Bowl Champions, Hollywood actors, MLB, NBA & WNBA stars, GRAMMY Winning artists, TV Hosts, Bestselling authors, Celebrity Chefs, and other notable public figures. I also consult Fortune 500 companies, politicians, national nonprofits, government agencies, and other entities in various areas. Personally, I’m a dedicated member of MOV Foundation Corp aka Men of Vision Foundation in my hometown – Fitzgerald, Georgia. Men of Vision is committed to uplifting, empowering, and giving back to the underserved especially youth, disabled veterans, and elderly in hopes of improving their overall quality of life. We produce various events throughout the year but the upcoming 7th Annual Men of Vision Juneteenth Weekend is our signature event and biggest fundraiser of the year. It will take place June 19-21, 2026 in downtown Fitzgerald.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course no one’s life is completely smooth all the time. There have been numerous setbacks, obstacles and life challenges that I faced over the years. However, I was told at a young age by my late grandmother “In order to testify you have to have a testimony”. Meaning that in order to truly appreciate the good in your life, sometimes you have to endure and overcome the bad. Throughout my life whenever I have been faced with said challenges, I learned to view them as necessary parts of the process to becoming better. The best lessons in life are often learned in periods of uncertainty or struggle. It is those challenges and struggles that actually develop our character and when we learn who we really are.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Men of Vision Foundation is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization comprised of men who are Fitzgerald, GA natives and/or current residents. A lot of us are also military veterans. We produce various community programs and initiatives throughout the year, including ~ Mentoring, Financial Literacy, Career Readiness Training, Community Beautification Projects, Health & Wellness initiatives, MLK Weekend, and our Youth Enrichment Trips where we take boys and girls to historic sites across the country that are important to our culture. This year we plan to launch our Men of Vision Foundation Scholarship where we will award scholarships to high school seniors who meet a certain criteria both academically and character wise who plan to college and/or trade/technical school. We ultimately want to make a positive impact in our hometown. We are continuing to grow with our initiatives and community programs.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most valuable lesson that I’ve learned in Life and as a member of Men of Vision, is that no one succeeds alone. It takes teamwork and commitment from others to come together in order to achieve success. I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for the love and support of my village growing up as well as my various mentors I have today in my profession.
