Meet Corrine Reedy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corrine Reedy.

Hi Corrine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Misfit Teez was born in 2016, from my blog posts, on a dare. A friend dared me to begin putting my slogans /hashtags on apparel.

I was reluctant initially, for two reasons: 1. I didn’t start a blog to build a brand or make money; I simply wanted to share my thoughts & hopefully help people. 2. My blog wasn’t popular/commercial enough to build a brand. Needless to say, I accepted the dare.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been filled with obstacles. I learned to build & operate a brand via social media, YouTube, & some of the business courses I took in college. I was out here on a wing and a prayer. I’m grateful the “wing and prayer” has sustained me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently the Branch Manager for Georgia Heritage Federal CU (the Lathrop branch).

I’ve worked in the financial services industry for 20 years. I’m passionate about financial literacy. I am most proud of graduating with (Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration 2013) from college while working full-time and being married with three children.

My sense of humor and ability to see both sides of the coin set me apart.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Books – The Artist Way at Work, Time to Think, The Bible, The Energy Bus, 5 Love Languages Podcast – Therapy for Black Girls.

Meditation, exercise, prayer, and writing keep me show up as my best self.
