Meet Danielle Gomez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Gomez.

Danielle Gomez

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Pink Chique was started by Stephanie Rae in 2006. When Stephanie was seven years old, she learned that she had scoliosis, an unnatural curvature of the spine that would grow much worse in the coming years. She wore uncomfortable back braces through her childhood and teen years. In high school, her curvature reached an extraordinary 110 degrees. Doctors were optimistic about corrective surgery, as her curvature was among the worst they had seen. But through their skill and God’s grace, Stephanie’s curve was brought down to 41 degrees. Through her transformation, Stephanie was able, at last, to pursue her dreams of acting and modeling.

During that time, she experienced first-hand behind the scenes of being a Makeup Artist.

It was then that she realized that with her experience and what she had gone through, her true passion was to make women look and feel beautiful. It became her way of sharing those wonderful feelings of transformation with other women and to make them glow from the inside out!

As for myself, I had been an artist for quite some years at Pink Chique prior to moving into the “behind the scenes.” But, being a new mom, traveling constantly, and wanting to be more present in mine/my family’s life – when Stephanie and I spoke about Pink Chique’s rebrand, I felt ultimately called to offer more than just my hair and makeup services. As I’ve stepped into this new role with Pink Chique and watched it grow once again, it’s truly such a wonderful and fulfilling experience to be a part of! I’m incredibly excited for this new direction we’re taking, Pink Chique, and for what’s to come for us.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course not! Owning a business always has its trials and tribulations. Don’t all things that are for a greater purpose? The rewarding part of it is going and growing through them all!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are known for our bridal beauty. Though we have done many other special events, bridal beauty is truly where our artists stand out. They are all highly trained and continue to invest not only in their products but also in their continuing education – always eager to be on top of the trends and offer our brides the best experience + service. All of our artists are BOTH hair and makeup artists as well! We find it works most efficiently to be able to have one artist for most of our weddings and believe it’s even more personable/intimate for our brides. We bridal beauty services across 12 states nationwide (so far 😉,) and love our destination elopements or micro weddings.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I truly believe we are slowly seeing a shift from huge extravagant weddings into more intimate micro weddings or even elopements. I feel like couples nowadays, aside from maybe saving some money, prefer to keep it to a minimum on headcount while putting the expenses in their big day to the special details – whether that’s a special destination, a fun excursion involving their guests/party, or maybe just keeping it between them and shocking everyone with a beautiful surprise! And, here at Pink Chique, we absolutely LOVE IT! It’s such an honor to be a part of the BIG days, let alone these much more intimate (just as big in different ways) days.
