Empress Makalani, FOUNDER & CEO of iCport Savannah, is inspired, motivated, and “CPORT’D” by her Husband and Best friend Siwatu Makalani, FOUNDER &CEO of MakalaniTribe, Local Artist, Poet, Lyricists and handyman; Her Brothers, God Imaj (Yusuf Major), Local Artist, West African Drummer and Craftsman, XNXX Timmy (Timothy Scott), Local Artist; iCport Savannah’s Lock’dN made up of Cliqu’dUp, SOSOSOLID, Tre Singleton, Paulie Sharelle and The Cporters of iCport Savannah’s CPORT’D. She takes her hat off to the hard workers of their crafts and is doing her due diligence to get them noticed and utilized by The People of Savannah.
iCportSavannah.org was birthed right here in the bottom of the bowl, Savannah, GA by Mrs. N. Lawson-Brannen who goes by her Pseudo: “Empress Makalani”. Empress decided to stir the pot a little and bring Savannah, iCportSavannah. iCportSavannah brings her take on what she believes The Urban Community of Savannah really needs. iCport Savannah is the only black-owned community organization that provides a One Stop Shop Website for all things of Urban Savannah and so much more!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The Melanated Community of the U.S. is the only group of people amongst those in America that doesn’t have a solid foundation of U.N.I.T.Y. It is very hard to find, within it, the family dynamic you find within other groups of people. It’s been found a bit difficult to call on another for a helping hand or to support one another in our personal endeavors. Unless one of us becomes famous or well-known, our community knows nothing of anyone or how most of us have created things that help contribute to our community. THE WAY WE NEED.
Though I’m not yet equipped to provide what’s needed for this to occur in our country as a whole, I have created a One Stop Shop where Savannah and Its surrounding neighbors can find out what’s going on in our community, who’s hot, things to do, places to eat, the talent and all The People of Savannah have to offer. Here is the place where we can be Cporters and be Cport’d!!!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a class A CDL Operator and a Savannah Creative, whose focus right now is my Husband, my family, the Creatives of Savannah, and iCport Savannah.
As for iCport Savannah, the following is what moves us.
iCport Savannah’s MISSION:
To Unite the skills, talents, businesses, services, Minds, etc., of the Urban Community of Savannah, Ga (The Cport). For its people to utilize & Cport (support) one another, Providing United & Aligned Elevation FOR ALL, BY ALL, ALL IN ONE SPOT.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Keep The Most High First! Stay Resilient, Accountable, Pure hearted, always, ALWAYS be grateful, and appreciate & honor those that “CPORT” you.
Keeping your heart pure in everything you do is extremely important, so much so that it is vital. Being resilient, staying focused, keeping patience, and having an understanding that a trial, tribulation, or a setback does not mean you have failed will get you where you want to go. In the case that you fall, get back up… Every time. You only fail when you quit.
As long as it doesn’t hurt you, always lend a helping hand. Support all whom you are able without expecting anything in return. It will always come back to you in abundance. If we don’t support and utilize one another, who else will? How can we expect anyone else to see us if we don’t first see ourselves?
Understand that perspectives are different because everyone sees through different lenses, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Opening your mind to understanding perspectives that differ from yours opens your world and mind that much more. Respect the difference, understand the difference, and appreciate the difference. It’s what makes us all unique. Oh yeah, and don’t forget…
United we stand, divided we fall.
