Meet Erin Hopkins of Erin Nicole Styling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Hopkins.

Hi Erin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story starts around 2009. I had just graduated from college and needed to elevate my wardrobe to a post-collegiate, more “grown-up” style. As a petite woman, it was a little challenging back then to find fashionable, age-appropriate clothing to fit my body type, and I would jokingly say that I needed to start my own clothing line.

I’m really glad that clothing brands have expanded and started offering more sizing options (including petite) over the years. I work full-time as a nurse practitioner but several years ago, I started styling family and friends for various events just for fun. I had a conversation with a good friend who asked if I had ever considered turning my hobby into a business.

In 2017, I received my Image Consultant Certification from Fashion Stylist Institute and officially launched my styling business in January of 2018. In 2020, I was working on rebranding my business and decided to book with Denise Benson Photography for some updated photos.

Shortly after my session, she reached out and invited me to join her team as a wardrobe stylist. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of her amazing branding clients since 2021. I am so excited to see how my business continues to grow!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say the biggest challenge I faced was in 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. I had no clients because no one was really attending events so business was slow.

I was able to use that downtime to work on rebranding, and thankfully business picked up again in 2021 and has been steady ever since.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Erin Nicole Styling is an image consulting and wardrobe styling service for men, women, and children.

I style clients for special events, and family photos, help clients revamp their wardrobes, and assist fellow entrepreneurs with creating looks that accurately convey the personality of their brand. My goal is to help each client exude confidence and dress to impress.

I am currently located in the Columbia, SC area and frequently travel to the Charlotte Metro area to style branding clients. I also offer virtual styling services which have allowed me to work with clients in various parts of the U.S.

How do you define success?
Success is the result of operating in your gift.

I believe that when you love what you do and stay true to who you are, you position yourself to attract all the things that are meant for you like joy, peace, the best clients/customers, amazing opportunities, and even wealth.
