Meet Junior Baez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Junior Baez.

Junior, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was a big dreamer at sixteen years old, this is when I made the biggest decision that changed my life forever. My background begins in Colombia in my hometown Pereira. Due to my family struggles, my parents decided to move to Madrid, Spain thinking of a brighter future; but then I realized that if I wanted to grow economically and have better opportunities in acting and modeling I had to come to United States knowing it would not be easy. I struggled like many immigrants have, by having multiple low income jobs. But God always has a plan and I was introduced to construction. There are different work activities within construction. I have tried more than few, such as carpentry, but I found myself enjoying painting and became skilled. I did not stop until I achieved my own business after just four years. But this is never enough for a dreamer and I was not feeling satisfied. I tried to feel complete by going back to my original purpose in becoming an actor and model, so I decided to leave everything that I built in South Carolina and moved to Miami to start over.

The biggest motivation to make this decision was my girlfriend. She supported me, even though it was risky to our relationship. I started by taking acting classes, meanwhile, I was looking for gigs in this industry. I have to admit that it is very challenging when you do not own a green card. Many doors were closed for me because of this, but I always see things as it is not the time for it because everything runs smooth when it is supposed to happen. It was a rough time for my girlfriend and I but after a few months, I finally came back to SC and continued with my business. I proposed to my girlfriend and we got married six months after. Then the opportunity of selling cars at a dealership came across and I took it. I would not have known better if I did not try everything that I have done. This is not the end for me because I am a big dreamer. I will continue chasing my dreams and achieving new goals for me and our future family together.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is never easy as an immigrant, but I never surrender to the obstacles that I have faced and that I will keep facing and learning from.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
In the process of finding modeling gigs, I worked on my image and became very active in social media. I approached many advertising companies that helped me develop the idea of what an influencer can do. I started creating my own content. Now I handle the advertising material, such as creating videos of the cars that we sell at the dealership that I work for. I learn something new everyday to push my creativity and improve my skills.

What are your plans for the future?
My near future plan involves buying a home and eventually reunite with my family in Spain. I also wish to keep growing as an influencer and touch people’s lives in the most positive way.
