Meet Mètrès Manbo Ile

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mètrès Manbo Ile.

Hi Mètrès, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born to a family of mixed Christians and Vodoun practitioners, my household was Catholic/Christian, but my grandparents were vodoun practitioners, priests, and priestesses. I started my career in banking, I transitioned from banking to full-time Vodou Priestess, and Cultural Clothing Design in 2015 and I haven’t looked back since.

My career in Cultural Design was inspired by my spirits. My very first collection was dedicated to Kouzen Zaka, the spirit of workers and businesses. I fell in love with designing and sewing because it’s what I want and the Ancestors wanted for me and I welcomed it with open heart.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy, but with time things changed, and I wouldn’t want it any other way because my path taught me a lot about patience and resilience. It is why I am where I am now; each challenging experience was a learning opportunity for me to grow spiritually and emotionally.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Manbo, healer, and Designer. My career background is banking. But for the past eight years, I entirely devoted my time to being a full-time Manbo (Vodoun Priestess) and Designer. I am a spiritual guide and spiritual counselor, and I work with my Spirit-given gifts and talents to heal, guide, and help people.

I am a designer who takes pride in my blessings; I never went to fashion design school; I received my gift of sewing from my Spirits and Ancestors; in my lineage, every first daughter receives the sewing gift when they come of age.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
It would be incredible to work with other business owners to create a culture of collaborations to grow in our community; in the modern world, collaboration is the new buzzword. I am open to working with others to grow and expand together. Support me by purchasing and sharing my products and services and shout out my products and services on your social media pages, and I will do the same.
