Today we’d like to introduce you to Nailah Crawford.
Hi Nailah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Nailah Crawford, a Savannah native and founder of Love Thyself: Self-care, LLC. In high school, I became interested in natural ways to take care of my body inside and out. What piqued my interest most was skincare, so I made it a tradition to create body scrubs and oils as gifts during the holidays for family and friends.
One day, a friend of mine mentioned experiencing some feminine issues and asked if I knew of any natural ways to fix them. I honestly did not know of anything but with research I found so many interesting things! I researched the benefits of yoni care and decided to not only create things to help my friend but also to help myself and others.
Once the pandemic hit, I knew it was the perfect time to launch my business. Everyone was stuck in the house and didn’t know what to do, so I took the opportunity to be creative. Being that Love Thyself: Self-care, LLC promotes self-care at home the pandemic did not negatively affect my launch at all, it was the perfect situation for my launch.
Since then, I have expanded my Yoni Care line as well as added body care and lip care products. It brings me joy to create these products with love and pure intentions. I want my customers to be able to love themselves without having to leave the comfort of their homes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has not been a smooth road at all!
I’m not well known on social media but that’s what I use to promote my business most. So, gaining the customer base was and still is the hardest part. Luckily, I have friends and family who support me consistently and even a few strangers, I appreciate them greatly!
It has also been hard for me to put myself out there since I’m somewhat of a shy person. I’m still working on that as well as finding more ways to get my name and business out there.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business focuses on self-love and self-care. As I mentioned before, I launched at the peak of the pandemic. At that time a lot of people forgot what self-care and self-love were. We were forced to stay in the house isolated from others and forced to be by ourselves. For me, that allowed me to learn what self-love was and I wanted to help others find that for themselves. My brand stands on self-love being the best love but if you’re not caring for yourself, you’re not loving yourself. With my business, I provide women and men with products to give themselves some tender love and care, we all need it.
We specialize in Yoni Care products such as Yoni oil, Yoni scrub, and Rosebud Herbal Steam. Though these are “yoni” products I always tell men to utilize the oil and scrub especially if they shave, rather, it’s their face or intimate area. The oil and scrub work together to combat ingrown hairs among other things so these products are gender neutral.
I also remind everyone that even though we’re branded as Yoni Care specialists we have body care and lip care products as well. Yoni care is popular, but I believe what sets me apart from the others is that I make self-care convenient. There’s no need to make an appointment and waste gas, you can do this all in your home.
For those in Savannah, I do free deliveries and for orders outside of Savannah, I provide affordable shipping. Brand wise I am most proud of the reviews I get from customers. Everyone’s body reacts differently to certain things, but I am proud to say all my customers have provided me with honest and good reviews.
Hearing I’m helping people feel good makes me feel good and so happy because that’s the goal!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see myself expanding my brand to where I’m serving people nationally and internationally.
I plan to continue creating products that Actually work! I hope in 10 years I’ve created a brand to pass on to my legacy. I’m only one person but one person can make a huge and positive impact if they make it their priority to do so.
It is my priority to be a part of many self-love journeys one product at a time. By God’s Grace, Love Thyself: Self-care, LLC will be a household name 10 years from now.
