Hi Ray, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, music always had a strong influence in my life. I began writing my own lyrics around the age of 14. Bad influences and indulging in the “rapper lifestyle” led to a life of alcoholism, drugs, gang affiliation, and more. Drunk, I totaled my car on New Year’s Eve of 2013. After that situation I decided it was time to make a change for the better. I submitted my life to Christ, got involved in church and from there…”Grayce N Mercy” the gospel rapper was born. I have released 3 albums, that are available online along with several features. My experience in the entertainment industry as a Christian Hip Hop Artist has allowed me to explore other avenues such a as acting, podcasting and I own a 360 Photo Booth. I recently became a licensed life and health agent as well.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all! Being a creative and entrepreneur is extremely difficult at times. I struggle with procrastination and perfection. Which means I struggle to start something, then when I finally start it I want it to be perfect before I put it out!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Christian Hip Hop Artist by name of Grayce N Mercy. I specialize in the entertainment industry. I am very proud of the 3 albums I have on digital media platforms. I recently starred in a play for my first acting role. I also produce my own podcast called FCPG Testimonies that is tailored for people to come and share their story about how they came to know Christ.
