Meet Thea Zeppone of Zeppone Caring Hands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thea Zeppone.

Hi Thea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Thea Zeppone and I am a Entrepreneur, Life Coach, Business Coach, and CEO of Zeppone Caring Hands Homecare. I been in the industry over 17 years and 10 years in business. My introduction to healthcare started watching and learning from my mother and aunt, they would assist seniors & adults with disabilities in their home. When my aunt got sick and started receiving home care herself is when I started to really get into healthcare. During the time I begin to love helping and seeing that I was making a difference in her life by helping with the daily needs we as people take for granted; washing & dressing, brushing teethes, doing hair or even making a meal to eat. That change my life going through the phase with her.

That’s when I started to work for other agencies but just couldn’t understand why people didn’t want to help others, so I woke up one day and the Universe laid on my heart to open my own home care and train and guide people to see why helping others will help you. I created and founded Zeppone Caring Hands where we are more then a home care agency we’re a family helping each other build strong healthy relationship in our community while allowing our seniors and adults with disabilities stay comfortable in their place they call home. Our caregivers, Nurses and Staff take pride in making sure each customized care plan builds a goal to help with a solution for better care.

Starting my agency allowed me to meet so many people that are looking to better their life or just become business owners but just don’t know what to do or where to begin. That’s when I created my coaching business. I enjoy helping others with life and business needs. Becoming a Coach have allowed me to help people see the best in their self or even going into their business and find solutions to take their company to another level. I enjoy every part of my coaching sessions. I believe, help others when you are able. I didn’t have support when I was starting my company, so the joy to help others not make the mistakes I did is very rewarding.

I am so grateful I followed my heart and decided to create a life I can say is my passion. Helping people is what I love to do. I always knew that I would be a CEO just never knew what is was going to be. Now I am here living my dreams.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been an easy or smooth ride at all. I’ve had many challenging moments. In homecare we are dealing with so many people and everyone has different personalities as well has different medical needs, Finding great caregivers to match someone likes can be very challenging at times, especially when your dealing with a patient that is very picky.

In the beginning, I struggle the most with people learning to trust my company being brand new, it was rocky getting people to see that my agency was here to make a difference in our patient lives and not just about money. The pandemic has caused us more bumps that we have to pivot much more around to make sure we’re giving our patients 100% care and letting caregivers, as well as patients, know we’re going to keep them safe.

I’ve always told myself when I started that having a pure heart and being honest will get you to where you need to be. I work hard many days & nights to prove just how passionate I was, The greatest lesson I’ve learn is not everyone will see your vision and not everyone is your ideal client or employee and that is ok. I learned that I can’t do everything by myself and it was ok to let go of my baby and let others do their job. My staff is amazing and they keep our agency running off of our code of ethics and that is what makes me who I am today with the help of an amazing team.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Home Care Industry is a very high turn over due to healthcare workers feel as if they are being overworked and dealing with so much due to lack of staff. I see building a stronger community when it comes to the health care services at home, letting our community know that it’s a major need and doing this is a much rewarding experience. Giving healthcare workers the support that’s needed to feel wanted and appreciated. We all will have to experience age.

When it come to coaching, I see many people gaining a lot of love, experience and growth. I am just grateful to be allowed to serve.
