Meet Tiffany Noell of Smithereens Smash/Rage Room

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Noell. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Like many people, Becky, Suzanne, and Tiffany faced job uncertainty during the pandemic. We had mounting stress and frustrations with few outlets. That’s when we discovered the idea of a smash room where people can go and release all of that pent-up emotion. We decided that it was time to do something a little crazy but a lot of fun – open their own smash room! We started with a popup smash tent that we designed before opening our permanent location at 410 W Jones Street in downtown Savannah in October 2022. Our goal is to provide locals and tourists alike the opportunity to vent while smashing locally sourced items in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Since a smash room is a unique concept, it was difficult to find funding. We ended up with CADDA, who have been fantastically supportive. We also had many delays with the city, permitting, unexpected delays, etc.

As you know, we’re big fans of Smithereens smash/rage room. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Smithereens smash/rage room is a safe and inclusive place to vent stress and frustrations while working through grief and emotions. Smashing is also a fun and bonding experience for friends, couples, co-workers, bachelorette parties, and more. We are women-owned and LGBTQIA/ally-owned and pride ourselves on providing a safe space for people to just be themselves.

What does success mean to you?
Success is a combination of accomplishing the goal, being financially solvent, and most importantly, working towards feeding your soul and helping your community.
