Meet Valeria McFarland of VM IMAGE DESIGNER

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria McFarland.

Hi Valeria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Brazil, where from a very young age we’re taught that being well dressed is a form of respect — for yourself and for others. Style is part of the culture, and that early influence stayed with me, even before I fully understood it.

After moving to the United States, I got married and later my family and I lived overseas for five years. During that time, we lived in Bahrain, where I was fascinated by how impeccably dressed women were — elegant, intentional, and powerful in their presence. It deeply impressed me, but I didn’t yet realize how much it was shaping my own relationship with image.

Everything truly clicked when we moved to Naples, Italy. Being surrounded by Italian style and effortless sophistication awakened something in me. All the feelings I had quietly carried about fashion, identity, and self-expression suddenly came to the surface. I realized that style wasn’t about trends or excess — it was about identity, confidence, and knowing who you are.

That experience led me to study color analysis, personal styling, and archetype-based image strategy. What began as a personal journey turned into a calling when I saw how transformative it was — not just for me, but for the women I worked with. Seeing clients stand taller and feel aligned with their image confirmed that this work goes far beyond clothing.

Today, my business is centered on helping women align their inner identity with their outer image through intentional color, wardrobe strategy, and personal style. My work is deeply personal because it reflects my own journey — one shaped by culture, travel, and self-discovery — and my mission is to help women feel confident, authentic, and fully expressed at every stage of life.
When your image reflects who you are, confidence becomes effortless

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. There were many moments of doubt, change, and starting over.

I’ve moved countries, adapted to new cultures, and built my business while navigating family life and big personal transitions. Each move meant learning everything again — new people, new expectations, and sometimes rebuilding from zero.

There were times when I questioned myself and my path, especially in an industry that often pushes trends instead of authenticity. But I stayed focused on what felt true to me and on the impact I wanted to make.

It wasn’t easy, but every challenge taught me something important. Those experiences shaped who I am today and gave more depth and purpose to the work I do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My work is centered on helping women feel confident and comfortable in their own image. I work with color analysis, personal styling, and wardrobe strategy to help clients understand what truly works for them — their colors, their body, and their lifestyle.

I specialize in creating intentional wardrobes, not just outfits. I help women stop guessing and start dressing with clarity and confidence, so getting dressed becomes easier and more enjoyable. Over time, I became known for my personalized approach and for teaching my clients how to use their wardrobe in a practical, everyday way.

What I’m most proud of is the transformation I see in my clients. It’s not just about how they look, but how they feel — more confident, more aligned, and more comfortable being seen.

What sets me apart is that I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all style. I take the time to truly understand each person and help them build an image that reflects who they are, not who they think they should be.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I genuinely care about people and I stay true to who I am. I listen, I pay attention, and I want my clients to feel seen and understood. I don’t try to copy others or follow what doesn’t feel right to me, and that honesty has helped me build real connections and trust through my work.
