Today we’d like to introduce you to Caylee Corbin.
Caylee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Caylee Corbin Wilson—a wife, mother, and the proud owner of The Flower Shop. I am originally from Richmond Hill, Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University. I spent five transformative years in Nashville, Tennessee, where my creativity flourished and my passion for people truly took root. Marrying my husband in 2022 was a pivotal moment for me. From the florals to the planning, I fell completely in love with the entire wedding design process. That passion carried over into every baby shower, bridal shower, and celebration I could get my hands on—any chance to create beauty and connection, I took it. In 2023 I ran into a family friend, Lori Sauls-Hager, owner of The Flower Barn in Richmond Hill, she mentioned that Pembroke was missing a flower shop of its own. I didn’t know much about the Pembroke community at the time, but the very next week, my husband and I made the decision to check it out. Without hesitation, we knew—this was it. Opening The Flower Shop in 2024 was a leap of faith and the realization of a long-held dream. Everything then moved quickly. During the renovation of our building, we found out we were expecting our second child. That season was full of growth, excitement, and learning curves, with our four-year-old daughter, Lawson, and our now one-year-old son, Sonny, right alongside us every step of the way. Balancing life in 2025 has been both overwhelming and transformative. I’ve worked to juggle being a wife, mother, friend, active community member, stay-at-home mom, and small business owner—all at once. Through it all, I’ve grown personally and professionally, learning to give myself grace, discovering what not to do, and uncovering where my true passions lie within this industry. As I shift into 2026, my vision is evolving— with the hope of moving away from daily brick-and-mortar operations and focusing more intentionally on weddings and events and meaningful sympathy work. What started as a “crazy idea” has become something that brings me more joy than I can put into words. The question I hope to inspire other like-minded women and mothers with is simple: “Why not me?” I still ask myself that often. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it has absolutely been worth it. For me, it’s not just about flower but it’s about the connections we create and the joy we share. Every challenge is an opportunity for growth and creativity. Since opening in mid-2024, I’ve been honored to be named a Top 20 Under 40 Entrepreneur in Bryan County (2025), voted Bryan County’s Favorite Florist (2026), and recognized as a Trailblazing Woman in Business within our community. I am a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce, where I enjoy connecting with fellow entrepreneurs and serving the community. At The Flower Shop, every bouquet tells a story, and every client becomes part of that narrative. We’re not just cultivating blooms—we’re building relationships. We are so thankful for our clients and the love they always show us. Florals and people are my passion, and I know that love will always carry me forward.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Becoming a small business owner with two small children in a community I did not know many, if any people.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a florist who specializes in weddings, events, proms, homecomings, and sympathy work. I am most proud of my belief in myself and my love for others!
