Rising Stars: Meet Christian Dearman of Grayson Stadium

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Dearman.

Hi Christian, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Christian Dearman, otherwise known as Mr. Electrik! I grew up in Pembroke Pines, FL and have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old. Through my baseball journey I have been told 3 times that I would never play again. Adversity such as being cut from my college, to having a life changing injury, and having covid take away my draft season has shaped me into the person I am today. By the grace of God I have taken those trials and turned myself into a professional banana ball player for The Firefighters. One summer 7 years ago I was invited by my college coach Corey Pye (who is my coach now) to come and play for a team named after a fruit. Every summer since then I returned to play for the Savannah Bananas and play baseball like it’s never been played before. We won championships, sold out historic stadiums, beat MLB veterans and even entered the National Baseball Hall Of Fame. This game of banana ball has gotten so huge that we now have expanded teams and I have the honor of leading one of our newest ones The Firefighters! I live to inspire others and spread the joy of life through everyday engagement with people. Embrace your electricity!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road by any means. I had only 1 offer in high school to a college and they ended up cutting me shortly after I got there.
Had to find a new place to play and when I did I tore my right latissimus dorside tendon and was told that I’d never play baseball again. Through endless rehab, determination and prayer I made a full recovery.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am known for being the Most Electric Pitcher in Banana Ball!!

Specializing in breath taking entrances, trick pitching, dancing, stunts and video creation.

Most proud of having my name in the National Baseball Hall of Fame as the starting pitcher for the bananas.

What sets me apart from others is my mental fortitude and creativity. Being unbelievably adaptable in any situation as well as leading areas of entertainment for sold out shows.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
All Glory to God!!
He has blessed me tremendously and given me a support system of people that change for the better my life everyday. May family has been tremendously dependable through every step of the way.

Dad coached me and took care of me when I couldn’t even get up from a recliner, my brother went to every game growing up, and my mother believed in every one of my dreams no matter how crazy it might’ve sounded. I love my family more than anything and am forever grateful! ❤️
