Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Brown.
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, I always knew I wanted to work for myself but I just didn’t know what I wanted to do. One day, I went with a friend to get my nails done and a lady in there was mad because her nails came out to $265. She was so mad but little did she know, she sparked a light in me. I told myself I want everybody to feel good no matter the cost.
So, I got on YouTube and started learning the ins and outs of nail care, application, designs, and cuticles you name it. I want every woman and man to feel good and not have to worry about getting ripped off.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh no, lol. It’s nothing smooth about owning and maintaining your own business. Some days you’ll have no clients whatsoever so you have to still work for someone else. My business is just getting started, so it’s hard when you’re investing your own money into it, but I know everything will pay off eventually. Hard work pays off.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a self-taught nail technician/organic body product maker from Atlanta, GA. I just recently moved to Savannah with my husband who’s in the military. I specialize in feeding the soul and giving love to this in need through the hands and feet. Those are open doors to invite energy in. Do you ever realize how you feel after you get your nails and toes done? You feel good.
That’s what I’m most proud of, being an outlet of peace to my community. Allowing them to not only feel divine but letting them be their natural selves. I’m different from your average nail tech/organic goddess. I engage with my clients. I want them to know that no matter what, you are divine feminine energy.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was when my grandpa, God rest his soul, use to come to visit from Michigan. He use to always want to cook something or joke around.
