Rising Stars: Meet Kate Strickland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Strickland.

Hi Kate, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In August, I called Amber and asked if we could meet for coffee because I had an idea. She became my partner, and since then we have worked together to grow that idea into Friendly Neighborhood NP. Recent growth has made it possible and necessary to hire Linda as full-time practice manager, and several PRN (as needed) nurses and administrative assistants.

We LOVE helping patients big and small understand what is happening in their bodies and giving them the tools, they need to feel better.

We are so proud of the work we are doing and are incredibly grateful for the relationships we are building throughout our community.

Today, we are making local and national news for the work that we are doing in our communities.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Opening a small business should not be a smooth road. There needs to be twists and turns, potholes and cracks. This way, businesses can learn to; auto-correct, slow down, patch up and smooth over the tiny bumps before moving forward. With all that being said, our business is still new. We opened 10/01/2021, during a pandemic and as medical providers. We are working out the bumps and cracks but our care has never changed. How we treat our patients has not wavered. We do more than just our best every single day, 7 days a week to ensure success in our business and success in our patient’s health.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
