Today we’d like to introduce you to Yves-Jessy Pauyo.
Hi Yves-Jessy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Sawing is my hobby, so I started with street fair in NY, coming to Savannah I continue to do so with Craft on the river to show to the community a part of our heritage from the country were I from which is Haiti
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business is king of challenging, yes people admire my work they also buy but it’s not yet ease because they don’t really know FANM LAKAY yet.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been sewing since I was very young, I learn from my mom, and as I grew, I continued to educate myself. I’m very proud when people compliment me about my outfit and I tell them that I make it. I used to sew for families and friends they always encourage me to sew for others and get paid, that how I Started. It’s one-of-a-kind style, I’m bringing to the community a mixt of colors to enhance their elegance.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Sewing with my mom.
